In a time where the society is ran by corrupt government officials and unfit community leaders, young people are becoming more and more prone to turn to the streets to fit in. They find it to be a place where respect can be gained and loyalty is given. But the question arises, what is one to do to fix this unrealistic sense of security?
Little did we know that in 1989 a leader would be born on the Southside streets of Riverside, California. Raised like most youth today in a single parent home, Jentry Jonathon Salvatore unfortunately became stuck in the realization that his father was absent in his life. He was cared for by his mother with the occasional help from his grandparents. Jentry, later crowned with the fitting alias of "Ambition" seemed to stay level headed through it all. Realizing at a young age that talk is cheap, he learned to use wisdom to discern between the "real and fake" growing up. Soon he developed a street mentality and a never-going-to-fool-me-twice demeanor; Ambition learned from every mistake he made as well as those others made. Guided through life by his relationship with God, it made him stable through it all. Ambition grew into the young leader he is today as a role model by action and not just by his words. Looking back, he realized there were problems in poverty stricken areas and chose to voice those in his music. Through listening to his music, the problems are not only exposed, but also a solution was given to fix the problems in the streets.
Ambition is unlike your average rapper that will just glorify poverty, sex, money and drugs. He realizes words are much more valuable when backed by actions; words without actions are powerless. Ambition is focused on proving that his music is louder than words. It is focused on his lifestyle and character but most importantly his actions. It is his hunger and drive for success mixed with his surroundings that makes him feel that he has so much to prove to the world. But if any one word could be used to describe Ambition it would be "unsatisfied" meaning unsatisfied and fed up with the industry's lack of action. We live in a time where it is easier to enter a booth and try to fabricate the truth, then to actually say the truth. The world has gone astray, lost and forgotten in the power, meaning and definition behind their words. He is proving his name to be true as the simple definition of having a desire for success, proving that by his actions. So it is only right Ambition titled his debut album "THE DRIVE FOR SUCCESS" which will speak for itself.
