Longevity. Not a word that can be aligned with many bands these days, but one that can certainly be applied to Aussie punk legends Bodyjar.
For over a decade now the band has consolidated their local &international following with relentless touring demonstrating the blistering high energy live shows that have made Bodyjar one of the most respected punk bands in the world. The band now boasts hordes of committed fans in Japan. America, Korea and Europe.
Highly respected by their peers, the band can count amongst its fans members of Millencolin, Bad Religion, The Foo Fighters & NO FX.
You wont last long in the fickle music industry without killer songs & the Jar have delivered consistently throughout their career, From the sonic assault of 1998s No Touch Red through to 2000s gold selling How It Works & 2002s Plastic Skies, the Jar have released a string of classic singles including "Not The Same", "One In A Million" & "Too Drunk To Drive".
In 2004 the Jar bid a fond farewell to long time drummer & buddy Ross Hetherington & began a new phase of their career with his replacement, 21 year Moe lad Shane Wakker. Armed with new a drummer a new label and new management and over 50 new tracks, the boys entered Melbourne's Sing Sing studios to record their highly anticipated new self-titled LP, which was released on 12/09/2005. The LPs first single Lights Out topped the JJJ Net-50 chart for several weeks & highlights Bodyjar's uncanny knack of marrying crunchy metallic guitar riffs with a keen sense of melody & passion.
After nearly a decade in the business, Bodyjar's fan base is growing. Many have fallen by the wayside but the mighty Jar are still going strong.

It's going to be a monster four band pile up on highway 666 as Vultures of Venus crash into the Birmingham on Thursday the 3rd of Dec. Their debut LP which is now available through I-Tunes has been receiving strong support and favorable reviews from local radio RRR, PBS and Syn Fm. It will also be available in hard copy on the night. This gig is gonna be fun, fun, fun on the Smith st autobahn. Armed with big rock riffs and blazing electrified keys this is the Vultures first show since their sellout LP Launch. This is a band with a plan; and that plan is to make you do the Can Can. Joining them on the night is Mirrorhouse Antics whos live show is a cross between the Arctic Monkeys and The Stooges. They have just released their debut album, recorded at Bakehouse by Mikey from Eddie Current Suppression Ring. Dan Webb's 60's styled Hammond infused insanity is gonna be something to look out for as well as the 'Wise Flys' : they'll make you laugh they'll make you cry, they'll make you laugh about crying. And don't forget to look out for the crazy clown pinyada filled with burning flesh and give away fun toys for the kids. This is a B.Y.O "leotard friendly event ". So pour yourself into your favorite and come on down !!!
