Hi!
MICHAEL CALLAGHAN aka CAL

glitter-graphics.com ***Born in Scotland in 1963, Michael Callaghan, aka 'Cal' is one of Scotland's busiest artists, averaging over 200 gigs per year. He plays as a solo artist and with a full band. A late starter in the music industry, Cal took up music following an horrific work place accident fracturing his spine in 1990. Following three years of surgery and rehabilitation, Cal found within himself the strength of will to run a marathon! Cal started teaching himself music playing a second-hand guitar.*** ***Success as a student earned Cal the 'Outstanding Adult Learner Award', 'The Sound Control Music Trophy' and an HND in Rock Music Performance in 1993-1994. In 1996, Cal achieved his advanced diploma in Film and Television Music. 1997 found Cal established as a self-employed solo artist singing his own songs and covers for other artists, incorporating every genre from the 50s to the chart hits of the day. He quickly created a buzz in venues throughout Scotland from pubs and clubs to town halls and small concert halls over the next three years.*** ***2000 was a productive year for Cal, while continuously touring he managed to write enough material for an album and by the end of the year the recording of "(Scotland) A Part Of Me" was completed and made its debut. The album was distributed in Scotland by Gordon Duncan Music Distribution and Highlander Music Distribution and was made available to HMV, Virgin and most music stores by early 2001.*** ***In 2004, he pulled a month long tour of Germany to launch the album, "Calling You".*** ***Cal had over 220 bookings in his diary in 2005 and on the 17th of April, he played a birthday bash for the band Runrig's manager, Marlene Ross. On the 18th, he played at the Celtic Tsunami Appeal concert in the Aberdeen Music Hall along with the Donnie Munro Band, Dougie MacLean, Fiona Kennedy, JJ Gilmore, Clan Wallace and Dave Cowan. In addition to playing solo, Cal was asked to play guitar for Fiona Kennedy's band.*** ***In 2006, Cal supported Midge Ure in three top venues throughout Scotland. Cal played solo and with a full band playing original material and covers. 2007 saw Cal winning the UK Festival 4 Stars National Finals for the song, "You and I" and has subsequently been invited to judge in later talent competition events.*** ***An audition to replace Donnie Munro of the Scottish Band Runrig, saw Cal as the remaining Scottish Candidate before the band decided to sign Canadian singer, Bruce Guthro. Tours and support roles have included the artists previously mentioned as well as Ian Hunter Band, Fish and on February 1, 2009, Cal supported Sandi Thom in Aberdeen and then two nights in Banff on the 4th and 5th. Cal has also toured in Canada and Norway.*** ***Self-penned albums on his own label, Cal Music include: A SINGLE KISS, (SCOTLAND) A PART OF ME, CALLING YOU, and ROSE AMONG THE HEATHER. Sales have been in excess of 25000.*** ***Currently, Cal is regularly booked throughout Scotland, has been offered a role as a music writer for a US film based on Robert Burns, collaborates with various artists including German singer, Connie Conrad. Cal recently aired on Radio Borders The Sunday Getherin with Karin Ingram, on August 15, 2010. He is a multi-instrumentalist and teaches music in an adult correctional center, while coordinating efforts with his CAL Music USA Support Team to acquire venues for an extended State side tour.*** ***BAND Members: Michael Callaghan "CAL"--Lead, Rhythm, Whistles, Electronic Pipes, Lead Vocals; George "Dode" Abbott--Bass, Backing Vocals; David Lindsay--Drums, Backing Vocals*** ***Team Members:*** ***Michael Callaghan 'Cal' Artist and Lisa Frazier Site Administrators for CAL Music USA FB and CAL Music USA Support MySpace Co-Administrators of CAL Music USA Facebook: Elke Flamm and Rindy Bo*** ***Cal Music Website www.calmusic.co.uk*** ***Cal Studio http://www.myspace.com/calstudio (OFFICIAL UK BAND SITE) Michael Callaghan aka Cal Administrator*** ***CAL MUSIC USA SUPPORT http://www.myspace.com/calmusicusasupport (OFFICIAL USA SITE) Administrators Lisa Frazier and Cal*** ***Cal Support Page http://www.myspace.com/calsupportpage Elke Flamm Administrator*** ***For Bookings: www.calmusic.co.uk *** ***~Lisa Frazier CAL Music USA Site Administrator***

Graham Brown

glitter-graphics.com

imikimi - sharing creativity Graham Brown was born in Dundee Scotland on May 24th 1978. Born into a musical family with a long history of great musicians, Graham is related to Mary Brooksbank, and the famous piper, Laidlaw VC (Piper of Loose). Links for you to check out: http://www.dundeewomenstrail.org.uk/stories.php?id=18 http://www.victoriacross.org.uk/bblaidla.htm “I started playing guitar at the age of 8 years and I can remember running home from school so I could play some more.” Graham has 3 brothers, Eddie, Derek and Danny and all are musicians. Graham began running a mobile disco at the age of 14 and started gigging with a few bands at the age of 15 years. Graham’s youngest brother, Derek, became very involved with vocals and won many talent contests, as well as the Gold Leng Medal in High School. By the time Derek was 15, he and Graham formed a duo, quickly becoming a success, playing pubs, clubs, weddings and holiday camps. Graham and Derek formed a 5 piece Rock Band in Dundee to play bigger venues and gain experience, the band was called Electric Soup. This band worked well and supported Nazareth a few years back. The band gigged for 8 years. The brothers continue playing together nearly every weekend. Younger brother, Danny is drum major of the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards, based in Germany. Graham has played with the RSDG on a few concerts and has gained great experience with the guys from the band. Graham states, “After being involved with the RSDG Band and with my strong SNP (nationalist) up bringing I fell in love with Scottish and Celtic Music.” Graham was married to Laura in 1999 and now has 4 kids. “I had a great childhood and in my opinion, I was brought up with great respect and family values and I hope to pass this on to my own children.” Graham replies. For the past 4-5 years Graham has diligently tried to join with like minded musician's to form a Celtic Rock Band, at one point teaming with David Lindsay, Drummer for CAL Music. However, this effort soon played out. “Electric Soup was finished and all I had was Me and Derek (take 2) and the odd gig with my Dad on Burns nights. I got a phone call from Cal one day after he saw something on the internet saying that I was looking to form a Celtic Rock Band. Cal was in need of a bass player, and when I told him I also played pipes, the rest is history.” “This band is the best I have ever been a part of. The music has great feel and lyrics and the boys are genuine, great friends. I look forward to making fresh music and lots of gigs with the band. I would like to add, I own a MK 2 Ford Granada Ghia xi (1983) in Celtic green and it’s awesome."

CAL Music USA Support Team

imikimi - sharing creativity We are the CAL Music USA Support Team. We Sisters 3, Elke, Rindy and myself, Lisa. We have all met through association with CAL. Elke has been running Cal Support Page in Germany for about 6 years. This is how I heard about Cal. I stumbled upon Cal Support Page and heard the most wonderful music and songs sung so passionately by this man and I had to friend them both. I started this site and then a Facebook page and Reverbnation. We began getting so many friends and fans that it only made sense to combine our efforts. Thus, the CAL Music Team was born. We have all become very close and sort of like a family. That is what good Celtic Music does, it calls out to it's people, wherever they may be in this world and you feel at home, safe and secure with your own. CAL Music is exceptionally gifted in this area and has a magick of it's own. Cal's Main site is: http://www.myspace.com/calstudio Friend him, he would love to hear from you. THIS WOVEN CORD By: Andrew Provan McIntyre

imikimi - sharing creativity This Woven Cord. The Celts , a name from ancient history that inspires and fills the senses with mysticism. From Eire, Alba, Cymru and Manx from Kernow, Brittany and Galacia. Our hearts beat as with one beat, like drums drawing us to battle. Pipes drone in the high places reminding us of Banshee screaming in the dark and mist of hills and glens. Bards travelled from tribe to tribe, telling tales of heroes past, and glories of the hosting chief. Bards were sometimes also musicians playing the clarsach to accompany their tales. Heroes like The Dagda, the Tuath De Danaan, Maeve, Brigid and the Light of the world Lugh of the Long hand with his magical spear. Stories of Derring do giving praise and prominence to Cuchulain and Finn Mac Cuhail. The heroes that strode across our lands frightening and inspiring. Others like Cernunnos , known also in the lands of the Lloegyr (Name for the English ) as Herne the Hunter , Mannanan Mac Lloeyr who is remembered in The Isle of Man and in Clackmannan ( Stone of Mannanan ). Druids were learned men teachers of poetry, genealogy, mathematics , astronomy and herbalism for healing. Down through the ages Celts have been at the forefront. Witness the inventions of the Scots and Irish , in Art we are at the fore. Poets abound in our history like Robert Burns and Sean o’Casey amongst others. Not for nothing the Celts are reffered to as Warrior poets. In music Celts sing their way down through history from folk singers like Donovan have left their mark. Celtic music is defined by the emotions that the sound bring out from the sadness of a lament for lost lands and lives. To the joy of Jigs and reels to the poetry of the words in songs whether in Gaelic, Scots, English or whatever. About two years ago I met a lady on face book by name of Rindy, she introduced me to an exciting new talent from Scotland, well new to me. Amazed I found out that he lives quite close to me here in Scotland. His name is Michael Callaghan, his band is called Cal. They have written some extraordinary songs. This proves the connection between Celts , descendents in America to Scotland via the internet. The Woven Cord binds us together in song, spirit and music. Hi , CAL! Rock yeah! We are new band from St.Petersburg (Russia). We play awesome metal.:))) We want the whole world to hear our music! Listen to it, please and support us by your comment on our wall if you like our stuff. We do appreciate your true opinion! Take easy if you don't want to write anything:) Metal on! Cheers!:)))
You ever remind me of the enigma of happy thoughts I once forgot. The expanse of your beauty is a void no universe could ever fill. Your reflections bring happiness that rends naked glass. Please let me hear more of that wonderful sound. Your sweet voice is like the application of aloe vera upon a sunburnt back. In your absence I am forced into finding other forms of amusement while thinking about you. Your beauty is multiplexed in contemplation of your multidimensional effervescence. The sand runes crossing your divided consciousness do speak of contemptuous monsters being slayed by flying phoenixes.
