“My name is Chris Taylor and my philosophy is to follow the music and my songwriting wherever the inspiration leads, wherever the adventure unfolds.”
"A singer, a songwriter and a guitarist, Taylor is also one
of the area's most fearless music performers.
Taylor fronts rock bands and works in stark acoustic
situations and hes excellent at both."
San Antonio Express News
"Ultimately as a lyricist and singer, Chris Taylor stands out from the crowd and he's waiting for you to discover just how incredible he is!"

There are musical moments of real gutsy energy and melodic enthrallment contributing to an album that gives real meaning to the saying, "It's a grower." Like a good book that takes you several chapters to get into, Taylor's album can be a conclusively and substantially rich experience.

Chris Taylors fearlessness is manifested in the desire and the ability to make
music in settings including bars, music festivals, listening rooms and even churches.
A top-flight singer and songwriter as well as a visual artist, Taylor has, since his 90s days in Love Coma, made smart and compelling
music that brings
together liberal amounts of love, longing, spirituality and humor. A prolific writer whos able to think on his feet and pull lyrics out of thin air, Taylor is also witty, funny and able to entertain an array of audiences with a variety of looksincluding a solo act and with a rock band backing him up. //JIM BEAL (SAN ANTONIO EXPRESS NEWSPAPER) NIGHTLIGHTS
WHAT THE FANS ARE SAYING:
“Taylor is unique… he’s both funny and deep with his songwriting and stage presence… great fun to watch!”
“He’s pretty good. Love the song ‘Better’, which is just universal. Everyone can feel it and apply it to their own life.”
“His music and his artwork… all his drawings and paintings are unlike anything that’s around in the San Antonio music scene. He’s quite a breath of fresh air!”
“I’ve seen him solo on his acoustic guitar and with his band… and the songs are still just as powerful.”

A few years ago, Chris Taylor was voted "artist most likely to." but never managed to match the potential with the record sales either as a solo artist or as a member of the obscure but influential Love Coma. This is a shame because quite frankly, he is brilliant! Are the ears of American music fans painted on? Because how have they missed this talent.
Oh well, let me stop griping and instead enthuse about 'Under The Sun', a double CD's worth of Taylor's recent music recorded in an old fashioned garage fashion, set up the instruments, gather the musicians and rock out in organic fashion. In places this rocks and elsewhere there are elements of Americana that kick in for the quieter songs.
I guess the lack of a Nashville deal has meant that he's been able to continue making interesting music. It's about 30 songs and a couple of hours long so let me pick a few highlights! There's the bouncy rock of "God's Telephone Number" (admit it, it's a great song title!) which sounds like it could have been plucked from one of his cool kids' albums. Then at the other extreme there's the slow mellow acoustic "Sick & Tired Of Sick & Tired" where he vents a few frustrations without getting maudlin. The first CD closes with the re-working of "Amazing Grace" to the tune of "House Of The Rising Sun" (ala Blind Boys Of Alabama) and also features psalm like songs like "Radiate" and "You Are The Song".

I got rained out at the craft show I was doing on Sunday, and I thought maybe I'd come by Rockhills, and just be 30 minutes late... Alas, my foggy memory was wrong about it starting at 11. heh heh. O well. I'll be able to visit sometime after December.
Also, I've been meaning to give you this photo, which I took at Winestyles:
