MySpace a place for friends

Crimson started in summer 2004 when bassist Maher Saad El Din, guitarists Ahmad Shahin and Murat Jan decided to start a Heavy Metal band in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Later on Ahmad switched to drums because of the complete lack of drummers, guitarist Abdallah Arab joined the band, Ahmid Saad El Din (Maher's brother) joined in for the vocals position and thus a full band finally emerged.

Three songs were fully written and about 6 more were on there way. On October 5th, 2004 Lead Guitarist and mastermind Murat Jan suffered a severe asthma attack, which caused his lung to collapse, he died within an hour (god bless his soul).

The tragically stricken band was put to a halt as the future of the band was uncertain anymore. Later on that year in mid December luck smiled upon the remaining members when Ahmid bumped into a young French drummer by the name of Alex Croller. After a short audition, the band hired him and Ahmad Shahin took over 2nd guitar duty.

So far Crimson has played in all 3 S.A. Metal gigs in Dammam and 2 small gigs in Riyadh and have managed to get a good following in a country where music and concerts are the true definition of underground.
