You may find yourself wondering "What is this phenomenon known as Dead Leaves?" The music is influenced by a number of artists, but the sound is definitely all their own. Fueled by emotion and driven by desire, each infectious song hits deep and engulfs you in enigmatic melodies and haunting grooves. It's a dreamscape of harmonies, melodies, passion and raw power.
Having officially formed a short time ago, each member has already been cultured in various musical environments. Kris, vocals, guitar; J, lead guitar; Diamond Jer, bass; and Rich, drums, have one goal in mind: To create an original band with the desire to write and record the best music they possibly can.
Central Pennsylvania Coal Country is their home and Dead Leaves' songs and name are definitely influenced by the dark look and dismal feel of their home area. The band’s need to step out and grow has led them to successfully tour the U.S. east coast from the world famous Elbow Room night club in New York City all the way to Club LaVela in Panama City, Florida which is home of MTV’s annual Spring Break. Along the way, Dead Leaves has also shared the stage with and become friends with many chart topping national acts. Proving themselves road worthy, experiencing every horror story possible, and having many doors shut in their faces has allowed Dead Leaves to come out a wiser and stronger band in every instance kicking down such doors with raw talent and determination.
The securing of management with M.E.G. Entertainment, a Jagermeister sponsorship, and the sale of over 12,000 copies of their album “Your Kind Is Labeled” along with some international recognition were among some unexpected successes for Dead Leaves. A new follow up four song Self Titled EP released in December of 2007 has already far exceeded expectations. Due to the recent problems and loss of sales many of the major record labels are currently experiencing with illegal internet downloads and file sharing, Dead Leaves and their management went the extra mile for their fans and made their music available for free on their myspace webpage.
Dead Leaves has been recognized by, and remains in continuous contact with multiple independent and major label record companies, radio stations (top 40 & satellite), concert promoters, and various publications who are always inquiring about the band’s every move.
