BIOGRAPHY

DJ Ego has been a Dj for 10 years and started Djing professionally 8 years ago.

First starting at friend’s parties, just for experience, and then gradually moving on to hosting his own parties. After some thought and planning, Dj Ego decided to form his own small promotions company, called ESL (Excessive Sound Levels). Hosting parties in Brentwood, Romford and in the Essex area normally in social clubs, halls or pubs.

Then in June 1999 Dj Ego hosted his first club night at Sam’s Nightclub in Brentwood. After the night went well, and on this basis he approached a new club that was about to open known as Time & Envy. After discussions with the club's management, DJ Ego and ESL partner, DJ Keen were given Under 18..s night residencies. “This was the initial break everyone hopes for.”

Then in the early part of July 2000 the pair became Time & Envy’s Friday night resident's playing the music of the time “UK Garage”.

The next step was when DJ Ego joined Erotic 101.3FM, one of London’s leading pirate radio stations. A 12pm to 2pm slot on Sundays ensured great exposure and helped form the beginnings of a fan base.

“The phone line response and website messages were fantastic back then, Erotic was one of London’s highest rated station and the listeners were unbelievable.”

The next year was a very full one and included “Bliss Magazine” voting DJ Ego in its Top 10 Coolest people. That year also saw him host an Exclusive BLUE (Boy band) party as well as DJ at various movie premiere parties and after parties. Including: 2 Fast 2 Furious,

Then an opportunity arose for a new exciting residency at Icon Nightclub, Maidstone Kent. This was a new area and was a good opportunity to reach people who hadn’t heard him before. “Icon was a great club, the management were supportive and we had a good night every week”.

So by the end of 2003 DJ Ego was resident at one of the UK..s biggest Under 18..s Nights “UK Club Culture”, he was resident at Essex and East London’s leading nightclub “Time and Envy, Romford.”

“2004 was the craziest year I have ever had”

In 2004 DJ Ego took up a DJ residency at a brand new club called Liquid, Sutton. “The club screams prestige and the people who go to the club are superb”.

He also was offered the opportunity of becoming an Official Kiss 100fm club DJ.

This came in the form of “Thank Kiss it’s Friday”. A night based in the heart of London’s West End. In a club that oozed nightclub history - Equinox.

“Thank kiss its Friday became the largest Friday night in the west end, myself and Jez Welham had a major part in building a very very successful night.”

In 2005 “Decades of Old Skool” was born!

“Decade of Old Skool was the biggest nightclub promotion DJ Ego had ever embarked on. It was to heighten the bar a turn the Bank Holidays of 2005 into the ultimate events. “We sold out one of the Biggest and Best Clubs in the South 4 times that year!”

2006 went past very quickly and DJ Ego was asked to return to Liquid, Sutton. He also settled into 2 new weekly residencies Liquid, Windsor and Lava & Ignite, Norwich.

“Taking time out from Radio and Promotions completely 2006 was quite a relaxed year!”

DJ Ego then swapped Liquid - Windsor for Liquid - Redhill towards the end of the Year.

Now in 2008 DJ Ego has established a selection of new residencies and is currently working for a company called 3D Entertainment Group as National Promotions Manager. Overseeing 32 Nightclubs and managing all elements of promotions, sales and marketing.

A clothing line is in talks and a complete re-launch of DJ EGO cds will be available in time for the summer.
Interest from International Nightclubs is fast becoming a focus so keep your eyes peeled for news on some non-UK based gigs.

Finally the calibre of Artists DJ Ego is now moving onwards and upwards.
