With a musical career of more than a decade professionally working with different groups and after two successful solo productions which made him earn three Latin Grammy nominations, DJ KANE bets everything on Capítulo III - Ahogando Penas, his third album as a solo artist under the EMI-Televisa label.

Jason Cano, artistically known as DJ KANE, was born in Houston, Texas on June 8, 1975. He was the eldest of five brothers and received from his father, Raúl Cano, all the support he needed to devote his life to music.

DJ KANE discovered urban music and his passion for reggae in the neighborhoods of Brooklyn, New York, where he used to spend long summer seasons.

He started to sing at the age of 12 forming his own rap group and learning to play the piano, the guitar and the congas.

The techno-cumbia entered his life in 1997 to strengthen his musical versatility and during seven years he was the lead singer of one of the most successful Latin music bands.

After 7 years as lead singer of AB Quintanilla III and the Kumbia Kings, DJ KANE felt it was time to explore new musical horizons.

In 2004, he released his first album DJ Kane, an album that stood out for its originality and great musical feeling.

Songs like “La negra Tomasa” and “Mía” are a sample of his impressive international potential since, apart form his display of talent in Spanish, DJ KANE has all the necessary features to also venture into the English-speaking market. The album earned two Latin Grammy nominations for Best Urban Album and Producer of the Year.

Capítulo II – Brinca, his second album, was released a year later. With this album the singer received his third Latin Grammy nomination, this time for Best Tropical Regional Mexican Album.

A third CD has been released this 2007. The new discographic production titled Capítulo III - Ahogando Penas has important collaborations of well-known musicians.

There are two first singles in the album: “Muchacha triste”, played in the Mexican regional radio format and "Miéntele", played on pop radio stations.

Produced and directed by Luigi Giraldo, the album, apart from the singles, also features 10 unedited songs such as: “Ahogando penas” (with the special participation of FONSECA), “Terapia alternativa”, “El castigo”, “Segundos y minutos”, “Ni una gota de amor”, “Mejor te vas”, “Por eso te quiero” and “El sombrero”.

Capítulo III - Ahogando Penas has freshness and originality fused with the catchy and hook-laden rhythms DJ KANE got us used to.
