On a long time search for this upcoming band, Jerrica Simon (vocals/guitar) teamed up with Nikki (drums) in 2005 writing songs and carrying their project with fill in bass players. It wasn’t until 2007 after years of static that the door opened and Christina Poison (bass) came in to play…it was a perfect fit.
With a new band underway called DOPEGIRL, the three ladies brought their own unique sound and style into the band putting Dopegirl in a genre of their own.
Growing up on punk rock and having metal influences, these girl's developed a sound that no one can deny. With edgy riffs, hard beats and vocals from all members, Dopegirl’s catchy songs kept all eyes and ears on the band.
After recording eight full songs at Proving Ground Studio, the band hit the Hollywood strip and Los Angeles clubs hard. Playing actively in town and to be heard by the locals was their main focus for the band. Playing some big festivals and opening up for a few big bands, their music and their name gained some exposure.
Being heard and playing to a fan base, the girls started to really put all their attention into writing their second album. During their writing sessions the band decided that they wanted to be taken more seriously by the industry. Their decision was to change the band name. With the girls on the same page, they decided to reference their name to three goddess’ who are named the ‘Fates’ and another the ‘Furies’. It was perfectly put together and the band now became…’FATES FURY’
With a new name, fresh start and new material in the works, the name change has created a new sound and darker lyrics; a change that has brought the band to a whole new level.
With anticipation, FATES FURY will soon be recording new tracks and working on their second album. The first album release as FATES FURY.
