Gerard McCarthy's Blurbs

About me:

Being named Best TV Actor at the Irish Entertainment Awards and picking up a Best Newcomer nomination at The British Soap Awards have been just two highlights of the last 18 months for Gerard McCarthy.

During his summer break from Hollyoaks, he appeared on Big Brother's Little Brother with Dermot O'Leary and toured Northern Ireland as a guest judge on Citybeat's Young Star Search. He was also guest judge on Dancing On Ice - The Tour.

Gerard also co-hosted at this year's V Festival and presented exclusive footage for Virgin Media with the fantastic Claire Anstey.

His long awaited return to Hollyoaks at the end of September was suitably theatrical...complete with PVC stiletto cowboy boots!

On 6th October 2007, Gerard overcame his fear of heights by doing a charity abseil down Belfast's most famous hotel - The Europa. He was raising money for the Northern Ireland Children's Hospice.

November saw him perform on BBC1's Children In Need with Kevin Sacre, Loui Batley & Summer Strallen and he he recently appeared on ITV2 as a guest on Katie & Peter: Unleashed for ITV2.

And whilst most people prepared to wind down for Christmas, Gerard was in rehearsals for Young Voices in Concert alongside Lee Ryan and soon after took to the stage alongside a whole host of stars including Liam Neeson, Jimmy Nesbitt, Marie Jones & Bryan Kennedy for the last ever performance at Belfast's Lyric Theatrel.

He has recently appeared as a guest on This Morning, The Friday Night Project (with Mariah Carey!) and can soon be spotted sitting amongst some of TV's biggest stars in ITV's An Audience Without...Jeremy Beadle.
