Heart of the Sun are a 4 piece experimental rock band from sunny old Stoke on Trent. Band members James Blake, Dave Harrison and Jake Nixon first formed Heart of the Sun back in December 2008, and have been taking the local music scene by storm ever since. Ross Braddock took up the role as bassist recently to complete the band's line-up.
After a year of performing under the name 'The Light', the band decided to opt for a more suiting name. 'Heart of the Sun' was agreed upon, a lyric from the Pink Floyd song 'Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun'.
Since early 2008, They have focused all their energy into recording fresh new material. This resulted with Heart of the Sun finding thier own gritty sound, and impressive stage performances.
Catchy, riff addled songs together with heavier, more progressive sounds, H.O.T.S are an off kilter band who mix different musical genres to create thier own unique style and presence. Thier first E.P simply named Heart of the Sun is now complete and available through Myspace and Facebook (soon to be available on Big Cartel)
