About Hoarfrost [writing new material - show Jan 16th]
Hailing from the windswept prairies of Canada, HOARFROST is the culminating efforts of five die-hard metalheads -- each with their own unique influences and styles -- united together in their art.
In the early 90s, North America largely missed out on Scandinavia's booming metal scene. Enter Winnipeg's HOARFROST, who play a vintage fusion of black and death metal that hearkens back to this Golden Age of extreme metal.
Playing over a dozen shows in 2009, and with such local and touring luminaries such as Psychotic Gardening; Woods of Ypres (Sault St. Marie, ON) [Krankenhaus Records]; Tyrants Demise; Putrescence [No Escape Records]; Xplicit; Damascus, Helgrind (Edmonton, AB) [Godlesswrath Records], Ninja Spy (Vancouver, BC) and Cnt Punisher, HOARFROST have firmly established themselves in the local scene as being both a reliable band to play with and a powerful presence on the stage.
Plans for next year are already in motion, with HOARFROST in hibernation mode from playing shows* for the winter until spring 2010. This period off the stage will not be spent inactively - quite the opposite - as HOARFROST plans to roar back in the spring with an entire new set of songs and with prospective plans to record HOARFROST's inaugural full-length late in 2010.
*granted, were the right show offer to come along, we would certainly consider it.

i totally would play that show man but ryan (drummer) isnt down to do it, cuz he thinks were not ready even tho its been 6 months of jamming. i would play with even 2 people for sure if someone wanted to do some screaming. but ryan probly still wouldnt, i havent ever even played a show yet it sucks
