So, I just finished watching the Pick Your Poison dvd for the 2nd time and I felt compelled to write something. Just a couple of points I felt obligated to extend your way.
For starters, from when I was a kid until now, I felt and feel that you were probably the most intriguing, most psychologically brilliant man in the wrestling business. Never ceased to amaze me. Probably the best with words of anyone I have ever seen in wrestling and maybe extending beyond that even.
A statement stood out in this dvd after this watch by Laurenitis (Animal), stating that unfortunately he thought that your trials would outweigh your accomplishments in a lot of people's minds, something along those lines. I'm sure you know and have been told before, but this is not a truth with a large majority of your fans that I have come across in my life. I would just like to extend a truth to you that people like myself will always and forever appreciate the great things you did and, like you said, will not judge you based on any problems you have had throughout, because any of us are capable of slipping and falling victim to our own demons to one extent or another...the positives you have provided and how you ultimately come out of it, is what defines you, much more strongly than the hardships.
That's about it. You are a Hall of Famer in my book, I am not even a big wrestling fan these days but I still hold all the greats who made positive impacts on my young life, predominantly yourself and few others, on a pedestal to this day.
In closing, all I really have to say is thank you for all of your contributions to so many of our lives and you have been and still are vastly appreciated for your talents throughout the years.

Thieves of Dreams

What do they steal? Why do they steal? Haven't they their own?
Where?
Everywhere some child or innocent one has left them unprotected Not of ignorance or shallow thinking They aren't hidden due to love Hope and a sincere belief in all men There would be no need to bury them in dark, cold holes Where no life could possibly spring from their loved thoughts Wouldn't ever feel a need to lock them away either
What does a thief gain? Unfortunately even the most ignorant Vile and irresponsible idiot can gain from dreamers
How?
By aligning or shadowing those innocent, child-like, free and naive That have proved to be gifted in any area Stealth like and patiently they wait for an idea Or gift they have no right to claim Consuming and copying whatever has been offered up by those still free enough Inside to dream
When?
Every moment, every second day in and day out Throughout mankind it will never end for those selected few who have been chosen Or bestowed the honor
It is a fantastic and horrid breath that utters hope That this love should be shared Not raped or stolen?
My wish is not to punish the thieves But simply be given a chance to dream or not

SNAKE HISTORY
Before it became just another wrestling hold, the DDT was the simultaneously the most feared and popular finisher in wrestling.
Current fans would probably balk at the idea of someone being put away with a DDT while 10 years ago, it was one of the most anticipated moves of the night. Jake "The Snake" Roberts is not only the innovator but the master of the DDT and while many variations of the hold have been utilized over the years, no one has ever been able to duplicate Roberts' speed, ingenuity in execution, snapping motion or overall effectiveness of the DDT.
Through his in-ring presence and accute, seldom replicated ring psychology, Roberts connected emotionally with the audience through his strong--yet always dark--persona.
THE SNAKE HISSES
--These are vipers...Now, what's interesting about these fellas here is ... the mortality rate ... (if you are bitten) 95% of the time you won't live. What a great
system, huh? That way you're not a loser for sure.
--There are different kinds of people in the world. There's innovators like myself and Damien. And there's imitators like the rest of you jokers out there that think you're man enough to handle what we got to deliver.
--How can you have any idea where I'm headed when you don't know where I've been?
--You have a lot of people that come out here ... and scream and holler. I don't have to scream because a long time ago, I learned one thing: if a man has enough power, he can speak softly and everyone will listen.
--Mean Gene Okerlund: Normally, what does the snake eat?
--Jake Roberts: Chickens, rabies ... small children.
--...I got bit and that's something you never get used to. Believe me, I've been bitten probably 15 or 20 times and it's still a rush.
--...I don't play the game, I don't watch the game. The DDT and I, we rule the game, my man.
--You see, the snake and I are very much alike. Number one, we both like the feel f flesh. Number two, the taste of crimson red drives us into a frenzy.
--It's a shame people can't do one thing that snakes do and that's shed skin.
--A friend is the worst enemy you can have because you trust that person. If you don't trust anyone, they can't hurt you.
--Ever since the beginning of time, the snake has been around. Ask Eve, right? She trusted one.
