Formed in 2007, JAR takes a new spin on rock by incorporating a vast array of influences into their music, from Led Zeppelin to The Doors to Rush. JAR's goal is to provide listeners with a unique yet familiar kind of music where every song sounds different from each other.
JAR started out as brothers John and Russ Thornburg jamming together in their spare time. Longtime friend and bassist, Alex Adams, began jamming with the two in early 2007, completing the trio. JAR played their first gig on May 19th, 2007 at the Seattle Drum School LAB alongside band buddies Manic Highway and Darkest Grace. At first, Alex didn't intend for JAR to be a serious project, but after playing that gig he felt a real connection with the band and decided to continue.
The band went into the studio (hosted at the Seattle Drum School) in early July and recorded Fock Runk, New Tide, and Both Eyes Closed in a late night session. After putting the finishing touches on some songs, JAR went back into the studio in early August and recorded Wind-Up Wonderland, Intermission, and Window of Ignorance Parts I and II. The band spent an entire evening mixing all the tracks and around midnight August 6th the songs were done. These tracks would be put on JAR's first demo, which was released at the JAR Demo release party on September 15th, 2007.
The band is currently finishing up their new CD. Expect a CD release party this September!

High Soundz Magazine is a free music industry resource guide currently at a bunch of locations in Seattle (see list at www. highsoundz. net). But, you can save paper and get a digital copy (Web Edition) right now.
Wanted to let you know our new album "Don't Be Like That" is available as a FREE download for 2 weeks, via a link on our MySpace page....hope you enjoy it!
Oh my gosh you guys are so cool, you guys rock, I am your biggest fan, please sign my butt. Just kidding, I had to pretend to be a crazy fan just a little bit. Your concert looked pretty fun. Besh will be in town over the 4th and wants to hang so we'll be in touch. Maybe a get together at my place would be fun, but I'd have to get inked into your busy busy lives. That's just so sad that my young cousins have more a life than me at 22years old. How very very sad. Oh well, talk to you later cousins. ~ Caity
Thanks for the add! Emerald City Sound will be the best place for your band's rehearsals. All rooms will be equipped with PA's, Mics, Drum kits, and guitar/bass amps. Bring your sticks and play...stay tuned
