Youthful and energetic, I specialize in real-sounding children's voices. Very versatile performances for character recordings. Honest and fun for commercials. I can sound from 0-30. Many accents and dialects. English is my native language, Spanish is secondary. Twenty + years in the animation industry.
I got interested in voice acting when several people in the business commented on my voice being young sounding and good for voiceover (that happens when you grow up in Los Angeles). The first person who inspired me was a newscaster named Ken Jones, who introduced me to radio pioneer Chuck Blore.
I have always had fun using my voice to different degrees: accents, singing, imitating my favorite comediennes (Lily Tomlin, Goldie Hawn, the whole Laugh-In gang basically) and other people on TV. I thought it might be a good way to earn extra money. However, on an audition in San Francisco, I found I was more interested in the jobs of the people interviewing me than I was in the acting part. That's when I decided to get my degree in Broadcasting.
In the meantime, for fun, I was doing improvisational theater. By the time I graduated, I had heard many times that I had a good voice, but the real work at the time was in Los Angeles. So I took my diploma and headed back home to L.A. I gave myself two years to be successful. As fate would have it, I was. Turns out most voice actors have improv training and report cards that said, "good student but talks too much." I fit right in. So that has been my career path since 1981!
When I was in San Francisco, I landed a job voicing a demo commercial for Hawaiian Punch. It wasn't even a commercial, but a slide presentation. However, it got me in the Screen Actors Guild!
My most meaningful role has been playing Connie Kendall on Adventures in Odyssey (produced for radio by Focus on the Family) for the past 21 years. I have gotten to live out my faith through her all over the world. My dream come true was working with/for Jim Henson on the Muppet Babies.
Most of the voice requests I get are for Honker Muddlefoot, the Maharaja in Temple of Doom and lately Alex from Totally Spies.
Two of my kids have done some voice acting. I'm sure it's just a matter of time for the third...who is the most gifted in that area. They all think what I do is cool if their friends at any given moment happen to think so too : )

Now on PBS kids. Check local listings for times.
A clip from the Mr. Men Show. I do the voices of Miss Chatterbox, Miss Daredevil, and Miss Helpful.
You rock, I feel like I grew up with Whit, Connie and Eugene and the whole cast. I'm 44 y/o and I gave my heart to Jesus in 1983, back around the time when Odyssey began. Now my kids listen, actual over the past 21 years (our oldest of 5 kids), I have always put on Odyssey for them.
Thank you so much for so many memorable spiritual moving events through the years.. Glad we can be friends.
Hey there Kay-tee, We had a blast at your house last night. Tell your husband we loved the band - gr8 fun!
The marshmellow time was smokin'too - or chokin'- still can't catch our breath. Man, can that Vini fan a flame - both on stage and around the fire pit.
I hope you had a fantastic Christmas! Happy new year too. Thanks for being my friend too. I became a Mr. Men fan ever since I read the Roger Hargreaves book Mr. Bounce in the 2nd grade.
I have a question for you. I want to start doing voice actor blogs, paying tribute to those that made us happy with their voice acting work and I'd like to include you in the future, would that be okay?
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite times of the year. You get together with family and friends, enjoy being together and eating great food – and lots of it! Moreover it is a great time to stop and say thank you to God and our friends. Yeah the economy sux and lots of my friends are in hard situations. But still we have been so blessed in so many ways.
So this year I say thank you to God for my big motorcycle trip this year, for the friends I made and saw, for my friends on MySpace and Facebook and all all around the world. I also thank him for the protection I had this year, especially on my trip, the health and finances to do such a trip.
You are on my daily prayer list and I truly value your friendship! Have a great Thanksgiving!
