October 21, 2006, 44 Krav Maga™ Official Training Centers in the Unites States and Canada, 3 in Europe and 1 in Japan will all be teaming up with the non-profit philanthropic organization STOP CANCER™ for the first annual Krav Maga™ Fights Cancer Fundraiser. All proceeds from the Krav Maga™ Fights Cancer Fundraising Seminar will be donated directly to the Marni Fund, Fighting to STOP CANCER™ in Memory of Marni Levine (1969-2006) who died of complications due to cancer.

Krav Maga Worldwide began the Krav Maga™ Fights Cancer Fundraiser in honor of Marni Levine. Marni, one of the founders of the multi-national organization, passed away on August 31, 2006, after a long and courageous fight against cancer, leaving behind a loving husband and two young daughters, ages 9 and 11.

Marni’s death has triggered a reaction in the worldwide community of Krav Maga™ instructors. Martial arts school owners in the United States, Canada, Japan, and Europe have organized a global fundraiser: on Saturday, October 21, every school is hosting a self defense seminar and donating 100% of the proceeds to the cancer research foundation STOP CANCER™.

Come celebrate Krav Maga’s 10th anniversary as we help St. Jude’s fight for kids!
On June 16th Krav Maga Worldwide will be holding its 2nd annual event for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. St. Jude’s Hospital is dedicated to caring for children with diseases without cures. They have one of the highest success rates in the world and subsidize the costs for care above what insurance companies pay or in cases of families without insurance.

Our event is from 12-4pm on Saturday. Krav Maga is the most effective form self defense and personal safety for adults and children. It originated from Israeli military training and law enforcement and has since been modernized to an easy to learn, fun, practical technique for people of all ages. We are dedicated to keeping kids safe, healthy, fit and having fun and hope you can be our partner for this event.

The event will be a carnival-style day filled with self defense classes for kids and adults, games and activities for kids, a silent auction, special guests, food and drink. All the proceeds will go to St. Jude’s Hospital. Our National Training Center will host the event at 11500 W. Olympic Blvd. The event will be marketed for families and we expect a good turn-out since it is Father’s Day weekend.

STOP CANCER™ was created to meet the need for cancer research funding, and Krav Maga™ is joining the fight to “help make the world a better place” by increasing personal safety in our communities and stopping cancer. The goal is to raise more than $50,000 for cancer research at National Cancer Institute—designated comprehensive cancer centers. These funds will be matched by receiving hospitals with an impact of $100,000 toward cancer research.
