    The Libertarian Party's Interests
General

As Libertarians, we seek a world of liberty; a world in which all individuals are sovereign over their own lives and no one is forced to sacrifice his or her values for the benefit of others.

We believe that respect for individual rights is the essential precondition for a free and prosperous world, that force and fraud must be banished from human relationships, and that only through freedom can peace and prosperity be realized. Consequently, we defend each person's right to engage in any activity that is peaceful and honest, and welcome the diversity that freedom brings. The world we seek to build is one where individuals are free to follow their own dreams in their own ways, without interference from government or any authoritarian power. Our goal is nothing more nor less than a world set free in our lifetime, and it is to this end that we take these stands.

We hold that all individuals have the right to exercise sole dominion over their own lives, and have the right to live in whatever manner they choose, so long as they do not forcibly interfere with the equal right of others to live in whatever manner they choose.

Governments throughout history have regularly operated on the opposite principle, that the State has the right to dispose of the lives of individuals and the fruits of their labor. Even within the United States, all political parties other than our own grant to government the right to regulate the lives of individuals and seize the fruits of their labor without their consent.

We, on the contrary, deny the right of any government to do these things, and hold that where governments exist, they must not violate the rights of any individual: namely, (1) the right to life -- accordingly we support the prohibition of the initiation of physical force against others; (2) the right to liberty of speech and action -- accordingly we oppose all attempts by government to abridge the freedom of speech and press, as well as government censorship in any form; and (3) the right to property -- accordingly we oppose all government interference with private property, such as confiscation, nationalization, and eminent domain, and support the prohibition of robbery, trespass, fraud, and misrepresentation.

Since governments, when instituted, must not violate individual rights, we oppose all interference by government in the areas of voluntary and contractual relations among individuals. People should not be forced to sacrifice their lives and property for the benefit of others. They should be left free by government to deal with one another as free traders; and the resultant economic system, the only one compatible with the protection of individual rights, is the free market.

The Libertarian way is a logically consistent approach to politics based on the moral principle of self-ownership. Each individual has the right to exist without government interference so long as the individual respects the rights of others. Government's only role is to help individuals defend themselves from force and fraud, and establish a framework for society where rights are protected.

   The Libertarian Party's Blurbs
About me:

The Libertarian Party is America's third largest political party, founded in 1971 as an alternative to the two main political parties. Our vision is for a world in which all individuals can freely exercise the natural right of sole dominion over their own lives, liberty and property by building a political party that elects Libertarians to public office, and moving public policy in a libertarian direction.

Libertarians believe the answer to America's political problems is the same commitment to freedom that earned America its greatness: a free-market economy and the abundance and prosperity it brings; a dedication to civil liberties and personal freedom that marks this country above all others; and a foreign policy of non-intervention, peace, and free trade as prescribed by America's founders.

Where We Stand:

* Foreign Policy: We support the maintenance of a sufficient military to defend the United States against aggression. The United States should both abandon its attempts to act as policeman for the world and avoid entangling alliances.

* Gun Laws: We affirm the right to keep and bear arms, and oppose the prosecution of individuals for exercising their rights of self-defense. We oppose all laws at any level of government requiring registration of, or restricting, the ownership, manufacture, or transfer or sale of firearms or ammunition. For the LP's amicus brief in the Heller Supreme Court case, visit here.

* Healthcare: We favor restoring and reviving a free market health care system, and oppose any attempt by the government to regulate healthcare.

* Privacy: We support the protections provided by the Fourth Amendment to be secure in our persons, homes, and property. The government should not engage in illegal surveillance of American citizens.

* Social Security: Retirement planning is the responsibility of the individual, not the government. We favor replacing the current government-sponsored Social Security system with a private voluntary system.

* Poverty and Welfare: The proper source of help for the poor is the voluntary efforts of private groups and individuals--not the government.

* Taxes: All persons are entitled to keep the fruits of their labor. We call for the repeal of the income tax, the abolishment of the Internal Revenue Service and all federal programs and services not required under the U.S. Constitution.

* Immigration: We seek a balance between the need to protect the nation's health and security through control of our border with the need for a free-flow of human capital to fill our economic demand for cheap labor. While recognizing illegal immigration is a growing problem in the United States, we believe ineffective laws governing immigration are at the root of this problem.

* Monetary policy: Individuals engaged in voluntary exchange should be free to use as money any mutually agreeable commodity or item. We support a halt to inflationary monetary policies, the repeal of legal tender laws and compulsory governmental units of account.

* Crime and Violence: Libertarians want a safe society where citizens do not feel that they are threatened by other individuals or by government itself. By focusing manpower on real crimes instead of prosecuting people for nonviolent, consensual crimes, police will be able to better protect and serve society.

* Environment: Protecting the environment requires a clear definition and enforcement of individual rights in resources like land, water, air, and wildlife. Free markets and property rights stimulate the technological innovations and behavioral changes required to protect our environment and ecosystems.

Pelosi Needs To Step Down As Speaker-- Lying First Of All And If Not Lying She Has Shown Total Incompetency And We Need Neither At The Head Of Congress. I Ask For Her Resignation. She Does Not Represent The Kind Of Public Service Or The Freedom And Liberty We Deserve.

The only winners of Massachusett’s mandatory health insurance program are the insurance companies. This completely absurd, unconstitutional law turns law abiding citizens into hoodlums- all because they exert their natural rights. The people of the Commonwealth should not be forced to get health insurance if they choose not to. The government has no place intervening with my decision to receive health care and insurance when it does not affect anyone else but myself. These are hard times, and people who could afford decent health insurance would. Many are being forced to buy into high premiums with little coverage for fear of the extensive fee attached for not having it or to be allowed to go to college on a 2/4 full time schedule. The state also mandates many useless benefits, such as vitro fertilization, which is not only useless to many but has raised the costs of insurance by 23-56%. This is legalized thievery which makes the insurance companies pockets deeper while strangling what little cash we have out of the common folk. If the government truly represents the people, and if the people truly govern the government, then this system should be abolished. Studies have shown that this plan neither lowered health care cost nor achieved universal coverage, but polls of Massachusetts citizens have also shown that a majority of Massachusetts citizens disagree with it. If the government isn’t willing to do anything about it, I think it’s time the people start doing something about it.

Many thanks for the add. Hope you enjoy the music and message behind it. My mission in life is to fight Human Trafficking. understanding the individual pain of others is sometimes to painful for an other individual to touch and that is frightening ...
what i mean is that someone whose life is not traumatized and brutalized as a regular sequence of every day events unconsciously seeks the camouflage and shelter of apathy and banality from the reality of such devastating anguish and terror ...

but the spirit of young people who are used as sex slaves in the systematized global industry of human trafficking is now reaching out to the human fellowship in hope and desperation and through technology ...

it is scary when humanity turns a blind eye to this horror ...
its like ignoring genocide whilst it is happening ...

what i am asking is that if you hear the cry of these young people who are existing in an environment of torture and brutality each and every day that you then please do not turn away from them ...

please reach deeply into your heart and soul and please in 2009 join a movement or become a part of an event that challenges modern slavery in the 21st century ...

It has not been that long ago when people trusted their government. Recent studies of peoples confidence in our government has showed the free fall decline in trust and respect. This has not come about because of unfounded paranoia, the United States government has earned that distrust and vote of no confidence. Through the past 20 years of lying and deceit the public has learned quite well the trustworthiness our leaders.

A few examples would be easy to find and impossible to deny. During the Bush administration we were told we needed to take out Saddam Hussian because he posed such a threat to our nation and other nations around Iraq. His administration along with a democratic congress went on an audacious spending spree that placed a burden upon our economy that is almost hard to imagine. The Clintion administration typically lies about leaving Bush a surplus in the treasuries coffers but that is just smoke and mirrors, Clintion for years borrowed from the SSI funds and placed non back treasury notes. Bush continued his own agenda by passing bills ladent with laws that clamped down on our freedoms in the name of security. At the end of his administration, the Democrats who pledge that they are for the little guy ( the poor and middle class) and Bush sent over 1 Trillion Dollars to just the people that Democrats Yell and scream about that they are against. Bush did nothing to stop this or even slow it down he okayed every thing. The Democrats threw money into the hands of the greediest people that have ever walked the face of planet Earth all the while telling us that they are for the little man, which we can see now they truly do not give a damn about us average folks unless its time to get elected.

This leads us to the my point. Why keep doing things the way they have been done for years upon years and expect different results. Open your mind and learn that there are Real Options. There are several parties open to have support that would
