MIRIAM has been founded in year 1998 (under the name “Windigo”, renamed in 1999 as MIRIAM) by Daniela Bruno (vocals, bass), Carlo Bucciarelli (synthesizers, guitar) and Francesco Sordini (piano, keyboards).
It is known that our name MIRIAM has been chosen as a tribute to one of our favorite cult movies, “The Hunger” (Tony Scott, 1983), featuring David Bowie and Catherine Deneuve in the role of two metropolitan vampires. On the other hand, later we discovered that under the Roman Empire, this name used to mean something like “sea waterdrop”, which fits perfectly our tastes, for water themes in our music and for water colors in our style.
After 9 years and 4 MIRIAM releases:

Ciao, sto abbastanza bene. Ho cambiato un po' la mia vita da un anno a questa parte, ho chiuso il negozio ed ora faccio altro. Ma cmq è sempre la musica la mia linfa vitale. Djset, band e 'zine continuano come al solito. Pian piano vedrete che riuscrete a terminare il nuovo lavoro, purtroppo anche noi Vidi Aquam è due anni (con lunghi intervalli) stiamo cercando di portare al termine il nuovo CD. La gestazione è molto lunga, ma l'importante è che riesca bene. Spero di risentirvi presto. un saluto ad entrambi
