Formed in Gainesville, Florida in 1998 by Joe C. and Scott "Skyntyte" Free, Munkeez Strikin Matchiz (MSM), with their high-energy full-of-fun stage performances, have since solidified their presence as a "must see" show on the North-Central Florida music scene...............
MSM and/or individual band members have shared the stage with such notable performers as The Wailers, Bernie Worrell & The Woo Warriors, Original Parliament, The Steve Kimock Band, Buckethead, Les Claypool, Leftover Salmon, Living Colour, Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, George Clinton, Hot Tuna and Bo Diddley...............
*Why The Name Munkeez Strikin' Matchiz??????????
When Scott Free lived in New Mexico during the early 90's, he happened upon a scientist who worked at Los Alamos Labs who recalled hearing a story that went like this: After being invited to work on the Manhattan Project, Albert Einstein was said to have referred to project scientists as "monkeys striking matches." Einstein alledgedly went on to say "Scientists who base their calculations on E=mc2, should concentrate on splitting bananas, not atoms."
...............We share 96% of our DNA with chimps, and from afar, probably look like "monkeys striking matches."

a. man's carelessness with Earth's natural resources..........
b. our apparent ease with "living pollution"..........
