   About Paul Rodgers Official Myspace

PAUL RODGERS' passion is writing and performing music. For a man who prefers to keep a low profile, he has left his indelible mark on music. Rodgers is a Platinum-selling Singer, Songwriter & Self-taught Multi-instrumentalist who has Written, Recorded, Produced and Released 28 albums since 1968, and has sold over 90 million records.

He has led three bands to international success FREE, BAD COMPANY, THE FIRM and performed a plethora of sold out world tours; a boundary that no other musician has crossed. Rodger's has also enjoyed a Grammy nominated SOLO CAREER. He continues to record and tour internationally.

2007 looks to be yet another highlight in Rodger's career. He has both a new CD and DVD to be released, and a Solo Tour upcoming this year.

Soon to be released is Rodgers' DVD Live In Glasgow. Live In Glasgow, recorded in October of 2006 on the last date of his Sold Out UK tour (which included a date at London's prestigious Royal Albert Hall), is stunning proof that Rodgers' voice has gained strength and sounds stronger than ever. This 135-minute DVD includes brand new songs “Warboys (A Prayer for Peace)” and “Far Distant Shore,” as well as songs he has not performed in 35 years, and many of his hits, including “All Right Now,” “Feel Like Making Love” and “Can't Get Enough.” Soulful, bluesy, swaggering, he belts out his songs, and also plays piano and guitar.

Paul Rodgers' growing resume reads like a rock history lesson. He has Recorded/Performed with Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Brain May, David Gilmour, Buddy Guy, Joe Walsh, Slash, Nils Lofgren, Charlie Watts, Bryan Adams, Motown's Sam Moore & The Four Tops and others.

Rodgers joined Queen + Paul Rodgers and went on tour with them on a sold out world tour for two years. Queen + Paul Rodgers recorded a chart topping live double CD & DVD "RETURN OF THE CHAMPIONS" in Sheffield, England on May 6, 2005. In 06 another DVD "SUPERLIVE IN JAPAN" recorded in Tokyo on October 26 & 27. Also in 06, Queen + Paul Rodgers appeared on American Idol, and Rodgers recorded a song with soul legend, Sam Moore.

In the summer of 04 Rodgers was invited by the FOUR TOPS to perform in their 50th Anniversary T.V. special "FROM THE HEART". Also on the bill Aretha Franklin, The Temptations, Mary Wilson, Sam Moore, Ashford & Simpson. In 1993 Rodgers went back to his blues roots with the release of the album 'Muddy Water Blues'. Recorded as a tribute to one of his greatest peers, the album also perfectly illustrated Rodgers personal influence on some of the world's leading musicians and included contributions from Jeff Beck, Bon Jovi's Richie Sambora, Pink Floyd's Dave Gilmour, Queen's Brian May, Steve Miller, Brian Setzer and Buddy Guy. Both albums were nominated for Grammy Awards.

Rodgers then went on to form The Law with former Small Faces/Who drummer Kenny Jones. The band released just one album, 1991's 'Laying Down the Law' which included America's biggest AOR hit of the year 'Laying Down the Law'. Following the release in 1983 of a solo album 'Cut Loose', Rodgers teamed up with Bill Wyman, Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page to record the Wyman organised album 'Willie and the Poor Boys'. The album release led to the massive sell out all star USA 'ARMS' charity tour in aid of Multiple Sclerosis. Upon the conclusion of the 'ARMS' tour Rodgers continued his tenuous Led Zeppelin link by joining forces with Jimmy Page to form The Firm. The band released two multi platinum selling albums 'The Firm' and 'Mean Business' and became one of the Eighties biggest grossing bands over a number of sell out world tours.

Rodgers formed Bad Company in 1973 with guitarist Mick Ralphs. The band almost instantly became one of Britain's biggest selling exports, both on record and live. By the end of the Seventies the band had released six multi platinum albums, spawning further rock classics such as 'Can't Get Enough', 'Feel Like Makin' Love', 'Shooting Star' and 'Rock'n'Roll Fantasy'. Bad Company played to more than ten million people world-wide. Paul Rodgers formed Free with guitarist Paul Kossoff. Free's combination of blues, ballads and hard rock saw the band joining Led Zeppelin as the biggest grossing British acts of the early Seventies. Between 1969 and the band's demise in 1973.

Free released four Top Five albums, sold over twenty million units and played over 700 live shows throughout the world. Live highlights included the legendary 1969 Isle of Wight Festival and a British 'package tour' alongside The Who, The Small Faces and Joe Cocker. 'All Right Now', his debut single as a vocalist with Free, has become one of the great rock anthems of all time. The single hit Number One in over twenty territories.

Thirty years on from its release in 1970, "All Right Now" is still the essential inclusion in any compilation of rock classics. The single has been a hit in the UK on four separate occasions. By 1990, in the US alone, "All Right Now" has joined the elite club of records to be recognized by ASCAP for receiving over 100,000,000 radio plays.

A number of rock 'n' roll greats worship Paul Rodgers and his incredible voice. What do some of the biggest names in the business have to say? “Paul Rodgers has been, and still is, by far, one of the finest talents of our musical genre” — Jimmy Page

“Paul was a hero to Freddie and us when we were starting out. When I first worked with him, I was in awe of him.” — Queen's Brian May

“I am a huge fan. His voice is probably the greatest rock-blues voice we have here in the U.K. I remember when we first played on a show with Free, The Small Faces were on the bill. Steve Marriott and I stood stunned at the authority of Paul's sound, style, and control. They were the tightest, simplest and straightest band alive in their time. Every one of them was a master of simplicity and dignity — a word you can rarely use in our game.” — The Who's Pete Townshend

“Even though we've both been in the same business for 40 years each, I don't think we've ever actually met, but I've always admired Paul Rodgers voice and his albums with Free, The Firm and Bad Company. Long live Paul Rodgers!” — Ozzy Osbourne

“Paul Rodgers is the best singer in rock and roll; no one else comes close. His range, his tone, his phrasing; it doesn't get better than him. Paul is my favorite rock-and-roll singer. I think he is perfect for Queen, and Freddy Mercury was a hard act to follow.” — Ritchie Blackmore

“From the band “Free” in the '60s, to the more recent years as the lead singer of Queen, I have always liked Paul Rodgers' voice a lot. He is truly an inspiration and it's great to see him rocking the world. Happy 40th anniversary, Paul.” — Scorpions vocalist Klaus Meine
