Bio: Rob Machado is one of the world’s greatest surfers, having helped to define the modern era of the sport. Internationally known for his unique and impeccable style on land as well as the water, Machado was consistently seeded at the top of the world rankings as a competitor on the WCT Surfing Tour. With 12 career WCT victories, Machado was ranked among the top ten surfers eleven straight years, from 1995 through present , and was inducted into the Surfers Hall of Fame in 2000 and re-inducted in 2006.
Machado is committed to supporting his local community of Cardiff-by-the-Sea through his annual surf contest, one of Southern California's most anticipated events. An accomplished golfer, Machado also organizes the Rob Machado Golf Experience benefiting The Rob Machado Foundation a 501c3 foundation created to support various charities dedicated to environmental programs within Southern California.
hey rob i just wanted to give a super thanks for wednesday night at la paloma man for gettin us in for free thanks a ton. The Drifter was not your aveage fast paced freakish flick but i can hoestly say that it was by far the best surf film and my favorite premier of all time. having you and jon swift jam us out while we watched the bonues footage was super sick too. We get cought up sometimes thinkin that surfings about wearing the most colorful possible wetsuit and being super publicized in the media frenzy winning big cash and shit but u showd us how life can bring just as much happiness digging ditches and surfing solo (despite all those fags inthere askin you shit about sustaing a steady income in indo outside of surfing ha). Thanks for reminding me the reason i surf keep stoked Jeremy 16 San Diego
