"Sal Anthony: singer, songwriter & pianist. It all comes together in a good song, whether Sal composed or "covered" the song, his performance is always personal - always heartfelt. His songs seem as though they're sung directly to you, as though the songs are about you. Sal takes his years of life experience and pours them into his music, his passion for an art form, expresses his life. All of life's Feelings delivered in a song -- for you."
His sound is from the heart: Simple, traditional, melodic, acoustic. With songs like the oh-so-true "Life's Too Short" and the romantic "You're Always Here With Me", Sal sounds relaxed, with a lazy vocal sensuality. He enjoyed '95 indie success with "Wish It Was Me," both here and abroad.
While in the Marines, he was assigned to Special Services, performing for soldiers in Vietnam where he toured and became good friends with singer/songwriter Dennis Robbins (who co-wrote Garth Brooks' hit "Two Of A Kind, Workin' On A Full House"). The two wrote songs together for six years and are still close today.
Sal's influences are as diverse as the man himself: From Cole Porter to Motown...from Roy Acuff to Stevie Wonder. As he says, he wants to "touch the everyday lives of people - maybe on a musical level to be 'the guy next door,' someone who through a vocal or a song can help them cope with their problems or celebrate their joys. The truly classic song is the song folks can identify with on a very personal level."
This ex-Marine and ex-commercial jingle producer, is a graduate of the American Academy of Broadcasting. A huge sports enthusiast, he refuses to play by anybody's rules but his own. Father, piano player, he's what you might call a rugged individualist, a man who describes his music as "modern country - mature, melodic, message-oriented, but never in one bag."
"Keep it mainstream" is his rule to himself. Smart. "Also," he says, "at the end of the day, it all comes down to the song - that's what matters. I'm just along for the ride."
Since we can't expect the maestro himself to be so brash (he's actually a little shy once you really get to know him), we've decided to take it upon ourselves and do the dirty work for him...
After so many years of such heartfelt devotion, the RAUSCH album is OUT NOW and we can't help but feel compelled to provide a gentle little nudge on his behalf... or rather, proclaim it from the mountaintop!
Today I would like to let you know about two print magazines in Germany I'm writing for.
"Living Line Dance", reporting about line dance and country music, and "Folk Magazine", reporting about folk and country music. The magazines are high respected in Europe. They offer you a good chance to publicize yourself in Europe and Germany.
For more information, please contact me at MySpace or send email to Ch.Lamitschka@t-online.de with the headline "Advertise at Living Line Dance and Folk Magazine".
Warm regards
