Salmonella Dub

Salmonella Dub will release their brand-new EP ‘Freak Local’ through Virgin Records on the 29th June. The Freak Local EP is a selection of mixes from Salmonella Dub’s 7th album “proper” due for release in October. The EP features vocal contributions from the amazing Tuhoe diva Whirimako Black and Mc madness from our Aotearoa Celtic Rasta The Mighty Asterix. All mixed fresh for your ears from the bands Hapuku studio in Kaikoura.

Freak Local is an anthem to New Zealand’s individuals who refuse to conform. Every Village, town and city has them and, as Andrew Penman from the band will attest, they can often be found at the bar after the band has left the stage:
“They are the real thing you remember and the back bone of New Zealand in a way”.

Salmonella will embark in July on a sold out Australian tour to road test material for the new album. It’s their 30th tour of Australia They will then return to the studio to finish work on the album, due for release in October.
Salmonella Dub will be touring New Zealand during spring and summer 2009/2010
