About Sami May l Unsigned Singer/Songwriter/Producer
While the music industry is promoting artists that lack purpose, passion, &/or true talent, this 20 year old Orange County, New York native is working hard to produce & promote her positive material on MySpace. With limited funds & time, going to a professional studio is just not an option, so Sami has invested into building her own basic recording studio in her walk-in closet. Since Sami hasn't met any producers that can produce the sound she seeks to fit her songs, she has taken up learning guitar & piano to help produce her own tracks to get her musical ideas started. Though Sami appreciates the digital music of today, there is nothing that can compare to the feel & sound of a live band; whether on cd or live in concert. Sami is a multi-instrumentalist & has a well-rounded musical education. A student of music her whole life, Sami is dedicated to producing & promoting herself on her own until she is recognized by the right label & makes it to the top!
The lyrics & vocals are 100% concrete, but the music that you hear on this MySpace is just a foundation for things to build on; better things to come. The final product of Sami's work is expected to be released in late 2011 upon her graduation from Arizona State University. Sami May is working thru her 3rd year of college, studying music & business so she can be self-sufficient & successful whether she's big in the music industry or not. She's trained on multiple instruments, recording platforms & midi controllers, but Sami prefers a simple pen & paper to writer her songs more than anything else. Her goals are to have a solo career, start her own label, & build her own top-notch recording studio; writing and producing for, & vocally collaborating with many respectable, big-name artists along the way to make a change thru positive music. Sami has written a song specifically for Alicia Keys to perform & it is her goal to make it happen!
Although she's not a trained vocalist, Sami has always loved singing. Unable to afford voice lessons, she's taken to watching vocal lessons on YouTube to strengthen her voice & learn how to properly use her diaphragm to support better breathing & vocal projection. There's a lot of kinks to work out vocally at this time, but there will never be a time where Sami will turn to auto-tune. A true musician learns to perfect their craft; wannabes turn to auto-tune. Like Jay-Z states "This is the Death of Auto-tune..nananana, hey hey hey, goodbye".
Sami has performed on Saxophone & Trumpet throughout Junior & Senior High School, as well as playing two years as a tenor & alto saxophonist in the Sun Devil Marching & Basketball Band, & one year in the ASU Concert Band. That Membership in the Sun Devil Marching & Basketball Band has earned her the opportunity to play alongside Little Richard, The Boston Brass, perform "The Doors" show and participate in the half-time show at Superbowl 2008, & even perform for President Barack Obama at the ASU 2008 Commencement Ceremony. Performing in front of crowds up to 80,000 people in-house, & possible millions of viewers worldwide, Sami May is no amateur performer, & thoroughly ejoys the spotlight.
Playing music has always been Sami's favorite past-time, which over the past 2.5 years has turned into a mad-dash to write, produce, record, & promote her music in hopes to be recognized and land a record deal. She's studied audio engineering, has been playing guitar since she was 12, has been teaching herself piano for the past year, & has been writing songs since she was 15 years old. If her career doesn't take off right out of college, she is saving up with intentions to put herself through a 7-month training period at the Conservatory of Recording Arts & Sciences to get all her engineering certificates, & learn a full music management curriculum so she can network with industry professionals, & start building her own record label & recording studio. At the age of 19, this singer/songwriter/producer & entrepraneur, has already launched her own MySpace Music Promotions site, and is currently studying web design so she can offer MySpace & Twitter layouts & website design services to myspace users, bands, & businesses in the near future.
Making a difference in society is the sole purpose behind each set of lyrics Sami writes. The industry is so full of people telling the artist what to sing or say- everyone just does it for the money & fame. Sami is not that kind of artist; writing her own material & not concerned with the glitz & glam of the entertainment industry. Like Michael Jackson said "it's all for love- L.O.V.E.". Changing the world starts with each individual making a change; you can't wait around expecting someone else to fix the problem for the rest of us- if you want to make the world a better place take a look at yourself & make a change. DEATH OF AUTO-TUNE! All ya'll who use auto-tune should just quit it now. You can't sing for sh!t so stop pretending you can! Lip Syncing doesnt look good on newun!

ok awesome you're perfect then.. I currently am working with several artist and planning releases of a few mix tapes for one artist to build hype and exposure before releasing his album about mid-2010.. we should meet up and discuss some ideas we have for the mixtape and album. I also plan to start work on my Europa Entertainment DVD.. perhaps i just found the person to handle all the music, producing,etc for it..
oh you have your own studio? hmm. we'll have to work on projects..lol my company is called Europa Entertainment and we manage up and coming artist and models. I also have a clothing line coming soon called Calisto. What i been looking for are songwriters,producers and singers that could do collaborations with artist i'll be working with.
