Since 1999, Seamore Funk's music has become somewhat icionic due in part to the internet.
Often mistaken for Prince, his music has been downloaded more than 1,000,000 times from fans all over the world, thru MP3.com, Napster, Kazaa, Limewire, and Morpheus, and mislabeled and placed on many Prince bootleg CDs for years.
Highly discussed and criticized over the years for his comparison to Prince (sound-wise), he is still highly thought of for his funky jams. There's no doubt that he has created some of the hottest music ever. Just ask those who've purchased, downloaded, or simply listened to his music.
He's been laying low for awhile, but he's back because of those fans who are still requesting more of his music. Be on the look out for music here, soon. Or on his label's site www.thenewpower.com and CDBaby.Com (go purchase here).
Do a search on the internet for Seamore Funk and see what comes up.
Check out what the internet has been saying.......
Busted on my own blog! "Jay Vee" left a note in my comments to say thanks for the music and then a second one to point out that "Pretty Bitch" sounded a tad suspect. Well, I did a bit more reading and that track is NOT Prince, but is instead a Prince soundalike by the name of Seamore Funk, who specializes in "purple-flavored funk".
Not much info available on the web, but I think anyone who gave "Pretty Bitch" a testdrive can tell you that if Mr. Funk _ISN'T_ Prince (and given Prince's penchant for underground work and sillyassAKA's, there's always a chance), he's certainly the next best thing.
The main link above has a few songs available for listening, I'll also throw in R U Horny by Seamore............
Prince - "Pretty Bitch"
No idea where this rarity is from, vocally and musically I'd guess around "Controversy". Preliminary googling yielded little info.
This is another case of the most obscure, unheard Prince track paying off big. "Pretty Bitch" waggles its finger under your nose and tells you to gWON, then.
As strippeddown fonky as it wants to be, this deserves more play and some recognition. Spread th' word.............
UPDATE: Yes it IS funky, but it ain't Prince. It's music from Seamore Funk.
Tofuhut.blogspot.com ..................
Has anybody heard the song Dirty Bitch by Prince ? If so, can u please tell me wat year it came out. I've looked in my Possessed book 2 c what year it came out, and its not listed............
Prince nver wrote a song with that title, afaik...........
R u sure u're not talking about 'Irressistible Bitch' ?
It was 1st recorded in 81 (the outtake is on many boots), then was released in 84 as a b-side and also included as a SUPERB live version on the '1985 LIVE' Syracuse video............
I don't know if this man really wants 2 b mistaken 4 Prince or if it's that newbie fans (that I don't know what they have their ears 4...) just share Seamore's song that way on P2Ps..........
No, Prince wrote this song. I downloaded it off of Kazaa, trust me. If u dont blieve me, I can send it 2 u.It sounds like its off of the Lovesexy era or The black album era..............
It was done by this bastard of a guy called seamore funk. like it's been mentioned above, prince did NOT sing or have any sorta involvement with this track. check "seamore funk" on a google search.............
I purchased 2 of your cd's and they're very fonky.
Underwear is one of my fav. tracks.

glad 2 see u getting your stuff out there...keep doin your thing..........
Oh dude - I take it back, Sticky, Hot & Wet is fucking class!
Actually, I'm gonna buy a few of these after hearing the first 2 tracks, I'm impressed. You Funky!
Ro.............
I like it! Big Booty, SexyAsUwannaBe, Drop It Like It's Hot, Out of My Mind and Girlfriend kick ass! Out of My Mind reminds me of I Want My Girl by Jesse Johnson. You got that Minneapolis with a little Bar Kays sound. Fonkay!............
Well it is actually not fake... the thing is that the band playing this (as indicated above) is Seamore Funk, they have a couple of jams on that CD that sound like Prince, but then again most of the tracks do not sound like Prince at all, but do sound like The TIme or similar groups. THis CD has been thought of to be Prince once in a while by people and then they post here asking what bootleg/outtakes these are etc etc ... but nothing to do with Prince at all...........
I have a ton of those Seamore Funk trax. I kinda like 'em..............
There have been a number of threads dedicated to your 'R U Horny' or 'Pretty Bitch' in the bootleg section over the years.
Use the search function, and search for 'Seamore' - I'm sure you'll enjoy reading folks views on your stuff.................
Pretty please? ;-)
I've searched google and a whole list of prince songs but I found nothing.........
It's not Prince.
It's by Seamore Funk...............
Most of his songs r circulating on P2Ps labelled as Prince's by misinformed or evil-intended fans
