Shane Hampsheir was born and raised in a small village in Kent and from an early age showed signs of being a gifted and inspirational performer. The story goes...
At the age of 5, Shane and his older sister Joanne sat down in-front of the T.V and watched the classic movie musical, 'Grease' with - of course - John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. This rapidly became one of Shane's favourite films and would dance along to 'Greased Lightning' in the living-room, jumping on the sofa as if it were the car!
Joanne led Shane through lots of performing and singing groups at school. Groups where he could perform and show off in front of people...school choirs, assembly performances and talent contests.
Then, when Shane was in his 1st year at high school - Meopham Secondary - Joanne auditioned for the school musical, 'Oliver'. Shane went to see his older sister and was introduced to a world that blew him away! In his 2nd year the school musical was, 'Grease'...what are the odds!! Yes, he auditioned and got the part of 'Sonny LaTierri', one of the T-Birds.
So this is how Shane started performing. Since then he trained as a singer, actor and dancer (and gym instructor) and now he has sung at the Royal Albert Hall, The London Palladium, Sadler's Wells, Theatre Royal (Drury Lane) amongst other well known theatres throughout the UK.

In December of last year, Shane recorded for Universal Records in London a song called 'Home' written by Michael Buble, Alan Chang and Amy Foster-Gillies. The song appears on the Universal Records' compilation albums, 'You Raise Me Up - 2008', 'Home', 'The Very Best Of Smooth Jazz' and 'Time To Say Goodbye' out on 27th April '09.
The album is available in all major music stores and on all online stores also.
Shane has also recently featured on BBC South-East Today in an interview about the album and how Shane appearing on it came about. For more information log onto the address below.
Shane sings regularly with the Len Phillips Big Band and the UK Tour of 'The Kings of Swing'. Also, keep your eyes open this year for the new album featuring Shane with some brand new arrangements by Evan Jolly and the great Steve Sidwell.
