Heya! Below is a tiny snippet of the Dutch Oven show that we just got home from! (excuse the sound quality of the recording!) There were plenty of drinkies, (also plenty of THORNESIDE locals!) Thankyou to EVERYBODY who was there!!!
This is the song called "Not What U Xpected"
..."infectious, heavy, groove orientated riff outrage with an edge like an armoured steam roller".....
Spank Sinatra (formerly the musical engine room behind Brisbane's once notorious Dreamkillers) feel an irrevocable desire to create and unleash a NEW bombardment of gloriously rockin' noise .......................'AV'SOME!!
The Spank Sinatra song 'Hangin from a Hook' (the new version from the forthcoming CD) is currently featuring in a US 2008 Presidential Candidate Ralph Nader video talking about Single-Payer health care vs the options presented by Obama and McCain.....
FASTER LOUDER - APRIL 08
...entertaining, unadulterated exhibitionists. Raw, loud and melodic. Fakie and the team were superb. Sean’s guitar solos ate at the receptive audiences brains! .......JULIE-ANN ELLIS
TIME OFF MAG - MAR 08...
Remnants of The Dreamkillers have been reincarnated in the form of Brisbane punk preachers Spank Sinatra, who have just completed recording their latest album.
“There is so much screaming, riff rock and tight psycho elements in there that every time I listen to it I hear something completely new,” singer Fakington Wilde enthuses. “Sean (Witcher), our guitarist, put down so many layers of guitar that we had to bring in a second mixing desk. The recording process always changes the ways we do songs live. We’ve also got an entire ‘next album’ of new material waiting to go down, which we expect to also get recorded this year.”
The band’s songs, which contain furious screams and loud distorted guitar riffs, also carry an angry and furious undertone.
“I guess we get annoyed by stupid people. Our song ‘Slightly Twisted’ is about a person we know like that - an idiot who just doesn’t know when to call it a day. We get furious about how television and news shows make us more stupid and things that make our otherwise laid-back lives difficult. These are the things that piss us off the most. All we want to do is have a really cool time doing the stuff we like most which is hanging out with our mates, having a few beers, and having a bit of a laugh.”
Wilde says the band is eagerly awaiting playing Grungefest and looking forward to a prosperous year.
“The Jubilee seems to have turned out to be a rad place to hold these types of gigs. We played one there last year and it really rocked. Only a few people tried to set me on fire that night. I think that 2008 is shaping up sweetly for a return to real rock’n’roll, the likes of which we haven’t seen for a decade!”

Very cool! I read where Bob Mould used to compress more than 30 guitar tracks to get certain sonics...so I undestand your concept - it does make for full tones. Break a leg! :)

Hello to all, Just thought we'd stop by and say thank you ,to all the awesome bands that have sent in their material which has been aired on the show throughout the years.
We have had an exceptional response through myspace from some of the most talented underground musicians in the world . It is your contribution to our show that show people that there are still actually real musicians out there [and rap is surely not damn music, neither is that techno crap].
Undergroundsounds airs throughout Australia Thursday/Saturdays p.m.
Bands that would like their music aired on any future shows can forward their material to the address below;
Undergroundsounds Program Manager 44 Bambil St, Crestmead,Queensland. Australia.
I finally finished up a project I have been working on closely with my homie DJ Trippin' over the past few months. The idea was to take a handful of my freestyles, studio tracks, and b-sides I've recorded over the last year and combine them all to a 1 track mix. All mixing, scratching, and juggling was performed by DJ Trippin'. The effort is available for high quality download by clicking the cover below!

"Also
hugely enjoyable, highly original AND psychically useful is the music
of Australian duo The Scrapes, whose fiery epic guitar and abandoned
Mithraic fiddle pieces evoke images of lost Keltic lands inundated by
the oceans, lost Iberian & Armorican sea peoples and lost times
from beyond the beyond." Julian Cope
