The Stinky Toys, the first French punk band, created the punk rock scène in the then deserted parisian musical world, in 1976. They played several London punk Festivals along with the Clash & the Sex Pistols. Elli appeared on the cover of Melody Maker & that convinced the until then extremely reluctant French record companies to sign them a deal. In two albums & less than forty gigs, the Stinky Toys became a legendary band, a reference. It was over in less than three years, and Elli and Stinky Toy Jacno then released several albums as the techno pop duo Elli & Jacno. Their last was Les Nuits de la Pleine Lune, score to Eric Rohmer 's movie.
Elli Medeiros, Jacno, Bruno Carone and Hervé Zenouda have all continued their solo careers, while Albin Deriat has chosen a completely different path of life...(by R.T.)
