Depends on the song...a lot of stuff was recorded with Russ Kunkel. The song Suburban Casualties was recorded with John Baxter.
Tim Christensen plays stand up bass. Love him.
At the end of the day, I am the band :)
Influences
This is a hard question for me because I want to map out a lifetime of moments that shifted me in one direction or another. I have a record player in my family room and love to listen to Glenn Miller, Perry Como, all that good stuff while cooking dinner. I love going to the thrift stores and buying amazing, classic records for $1. Bob Dylan, Carole King's Tapestry, and Joni Mitchell Blue. At the right moment...it is magic. (The Beatles White Album is fun on vinyl when you gotta turn it over manually.)
I love specific songs more than artists.
I loved movie scores growing up...like Somewhere in Time, The Mission, Schindler's List,...I love a good melody. I love a good pop song. The best is when a great artist writes a pop song...like Peter Gabriel's 'In Your Eyes'. Growing up, I was a huge sucker for songs like 'Against All Odds' by Phil Collins, "i Can't Make You Love Me" sung by Bonnie Rait. Cry, cry, cry. I have taken a lot of musical twists and turns...I'll obsess on a song or album until that era ends.
I love Allison Krauss. Sting. Ellis Paul. Shel Silverstein. There are a lot of songs, books & poets that captured me in certain eras of my life...I'd have to think about that more. I return to Emily Dickenson every so often.
One of my favorite songs is called 'Winds of Vanity" by John Cody. I don't know if you can locate it....he is not hugely famous.
I love a good musical...the cheesier the better. Music Man, The Boyfriend, West Side Story. Older stuff.
The Bible. Colossians is my favorite book at the moment. But, open any part of the Bible and something will blow your mind.
You need to find a reason to come to the University of Central Florida for all your fans here! We have an awesome performance scene for performers like yourself!
Haha, figured I'd drop by and wish you Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, etc... Read the comment below this one though and thought it was funny. You don't need to go to some other website to find your crush. I've had a crush on you ever since I was 10 years old. (at least because of your voice, haha.) Take care,
Paul Tibbets, the pilot of the "Enola Gay", died last Thursday (November 1st) in Columbus, Ohio. I'm just now getting here to listen to "Miss Enola Gay" again and post this. I love that song and have in the song list on my own MySpace page. Thanks again for writing it.
I need to update my blogspot blog that you are active here. Have a good week.
