We are influenced, motivated to do what we do, by negative people. In particular, those who say we can't be successful in the long term because Modestans could give a shit about independent music. If you are one of these individuals, we would like to thank you and your fork tounges for continually kicking us in the ass.
"Off The Air" is an independently owned and locally operated production company dedicated to throwing the finest live independent music events in the Central Valley; determined to lead the charge in creating a young, vibrant, forward thinking community of progressives that genuinely support those who choose to live and express themselves musically and artistically in the greater Modesto area.
Off The Air presents one show a month at Deva Cafe, except for July and December, with the occasional house show or collaborative event.
Hey, just wanted to say thanks for doing what you do! My youngest son and I really enjoyed the show last night at Deva's! When a 7 year old can sit and listen to music for 2 hours, you know it's good! :)

Barking Dog will be joining art walk, and current show from Peer Recovery Art Project, set by John Black, with 5 paintings from Keena Wells, shown on what have been the standard display panels in the restaurant since Barking Dog Eatery opened. Shows expected to rotate monthly with the Art Walk. Steve Brewer will likely host this one, as Keena has been dealing with health issues down in Southern California, and Steve will be doing his sculpture demo with the August 20 art walk. As the new art director for Peer Recovery Art Project, I'll be working with JB on who's next up in this new art walk location.
Thursdays, music will be provided by Ernie Buccio and David Dow in an improv jam that runs every Thursday night, with Third Thursday accomodating art walk visitors. Like Clayton's, Papachino's, J Street Cafe, you can start or end your art walk with dinner before or after, and even during art walk hours. We encourage you to visit the inaugural show, as it features a some different Keena Wells works.
