"Off the Black" premiered at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival and was acquired for worldwide distribution by THINKFilm. It stars NICK NOLTE, TREVOR MORGAN, and TIMOTHY HUTTON, is the feature debut of writer/director JAMES PONSOLDT, was produced by FORENSIC FILMS ("Raising Victor Vargas," "Gummo," "Clean"), filmed by cinematographer TIM ORR ("George Washington," "All the Real Girls," "Raising Victor Vargas"), features songs from TOWNES VAN ZANDT, SKIP SPENCE, SYD BARRETT, LOUDON WAINWRIGHT III, MARY JANE HOOPER, MAVIS STAPLES, and original music by CLAIRE CAMPBELL (HOPE FOR AGOLDENSUMMER) and GARY LOURIS (THE JAYHAWKS, GOLDEN SMOG).
