About me: Offworld is a space-based religion described in the science-fiction novel "The Big God Network" by J.C. McGowan.
We believe that the universe and all beings in it are sacred.
We worship galaxies, the stars, the planets, asteroids, and all the inhabitants across 13.7 billion years of time-space.
We believe life came to earth riding a comet or meteor, or perhaps in the form of a cosmic spore.
During the eons, there were "interventions" by extraterrestrials that helped guide Earth's evolution.
We were founded by Baba Ed and are headquartered in Andromeda Station, high atop White Mountain in California. We invite you to come worship the stars.
You can read about us in "The Big God Network."
About the book:
"The Big God Network reveals a unique alternative vision of the future, with richly portrayed characters and well thought out scenarios that are both creative and intelligent....abounds with references to many different spiritual and religious traditions." --Gwendolyn Toynton (Primordial Traditions)
"Finally a new satirical post-cyberpunk SF voice with elements of William Gibson, Neal Stephenson and the likes but with the added dimensions of Tom Robbins...AND spiritual elements that this genre sadly lacks." --Grant Garden, Amazon U.K.

Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom. Peace and love
Thank you, as always, for all your assistance in making us feel welcome at Andromeda station, and for organizing, along with Io and Callisto, the details of our rather-complicated rider for the Galactus gig. Due to Manny's wide scope of eccentricities and changing moods (schizoid neurosis), it seems that our contract rider has grown exponentially in recent years, and I do apologize for all of the bizarre requirements (DVDs of "Match Game" and "Family Feud" from prior to 1979 [crush on Richard Dawson], any films starring Hedy Lamarr or Tippi Hedren [fetish], Evian mineral water with all the bubbles removed [difficult], a first edition of 'Dianetics' [pious], Langhe/Piedmont Alba truffles [feeling happy], and Mateus wine [self-hating]).
I thought that you handled Shatner very well. It was a great idea to share that bottle of Oban (his favourite single malt) with him... you may not remember this, but by the time you were through, he was hugging you, and saying, "I love you, man." Sickening, but effective.
I trust that you are well, my friend. Looking forward to seeing you again at next week's Galactus. Just wanted to give you the heads-up, though, so that you can double the security detail. Shatner never forgave you for putting him on the schedule just before Sally Simkin and the pneumatic Asian contortionists (wow... what a great act). As you'll recall, the fans, knowing that the gorgeous women were just backstage, were booing Shatner in the middle of his dramatic hip hop recitation from King Lear, and his set never really recovered. According to Linda Arroz, who goes to the same cheese shop as WS, he keeps muttering, under his breath, "I'm gonna get that Kuiper John, if it's the last thing I do." I know you can handle yourself just fine, but I thought you'd want to know, buddy.
Thank you for adding me as your friend. I just finished the 20th episode for Confidential Encounters and I’m working on number 21 plus I'm preparing to direct the 2 hour pilot so I have to study those scripts while I write new stories. No one told me that the TV business could be so busy and yet fun. I’m really looking forward to becoming a director.
Thanks, as always, for all the communication regarding Galactus. Your people have been remarkably supportive to our group. We totally get the restriction on Dianetics literature backstage at Galactus, and we have strongly cautioned Manny about this.
There's an act to which I have acquired the American rights, and I wondered if I could bring this new singer along as a warm-up act for the RE-VO set. Please let me know about this.
