"Am I Awake glides unctuously through soft melodies that follow a refreshing linear structure... a pleasing, Sigur Ros style tsunami of oddly timed distortion that descends to a twinkling end... we give these autumnal charmers the thumbs up." - Q Magazine
"A fascinating journey through hushed vocals, haunting harmonies... swimming smoothly through On Histories of Rosenberg’s imagination and talent. A block-by-block concoction of atmosphere and uniqueness, a chilling and artistic sound." - Music News
"Brilliant - not just good, but brilliant... Using layered vocals, piano, nods to post-rock, old-school emo and almost-orchestral power, they carve out affecting peaks and troughs that work wonders" - Moderate Rock
"Gentle builds, sudden drops, ferocious bursts of energy, moments of sweet calm; the band have produced fantastic tracks of condensed post rock set to tender vocals." - The 405
"A five piece with a healthy glow about them... Progressive post-rock Englishness that has a warm dew-fresh glisten to it - they’re in to those rather current indie-mathy areas again, that quietly spiralling epicness, those slightly angsty vocal lines - they have heir own beauty though, a comfort not questioned, and they understand the power of understated restraint and that a quiet less is so often so much more than more noise and aggression. Emotional English indie-prog that takes you out with the leaves and fields and things awoken... these are impressively hopeful, uplifting and sometimes rather beautiful first moves." - Organart magazine
On Histories Of Rosenberg drifted in with the leaves of Autumn 2008. Our first record is released through Function Records on September 7th and two tracks from that record can be heard above. Thanks so much for listening.
Felt Up! are hosting Brighton Zine Fest for an afternoon of workshops and talks on Zines and Craft.
We'll supply some materials but if you could bring your own glue/paper/scissors to subsidise what we have please do.
We
are also continuing our pillar sock for The Freebutt which is the
perfect chance to learn basic knitting. A square is all we ask, you can
bring one you made earlier and we'll add it to the whole thing.
(Last time we even taught left handed knitting!!)
We will be announcing our plans for december aswell.
Sometimes the best laid plans ..... Sometimes as the Rolling Stones sang 'You can't always get what you want'. Today I wanted a dose of On Histories but it wasn't to be. At least the second support band were interesting! Louis - I only came from Colchester - your profuse apologies were unnecessary (but thanks x) and Rob - sorry I ribbed you mercilessly! Guess we had the best deal - can't have been much fun stuck on the motorway in a broken-down van. Sorry I didn't get to hear you play but not too long till the 30th. See you @ The Old Blue Last! :)x
haha dan white wasnt happy when he saw that! it was all in good spirit though haha. and yes miss you too! not sure which one of you lot this is, but was good to see louis twice last week in london! x
Hey Louis - what a nice surprise to bump into you at the Twilight Sad gig! Have bought my ticket for the Lexington so will see you guys very soon. Can't wait - it's been too long! x
Oh really, where at? So far it's not too bad, doing production at the acm so surrounded by a fair amount of guitar heros etc which gets pretty exhausting but it could be a lot worse! You living in the area then?
Hey guys! Hope you're all well! Really looking forward to touring with you! Take care and see you soon! Klaus Ps. Our name is spelled without the ' in Marvins :-)
Heya Louis, it was nice meeting you yesterday. Have two from Barden's Boudoir if you're interested. Sorry, I kinda rushed off a little after the gig; paranoia of missing the train! If you guys need any photos, just give me a shout! Take it easy!
Hey guys, hope you're doing well, still loving your stuff! We've got 3 new songs up (although you've probably heard them live). Have a pop if you get a chance! Cheers, Dan
