David Ogden is a Singer/Songwriter born & raised in New England whose musical path has brought him full circle. Living down south for many years, he recently returned home to his northern roots, back among family & friends. (NO BETTER PLACE), the title of his new CD, produced by Ben Wisch ( Marc Cohen, David Wilcox, Kathy Mattea, Cheryl Wheeler, Patty Larkin) says it all. Proud of his heritage, David's musical journey began in the small seaside town of Scituate, Ma., better known as the Irish Riviera, where he grew up the youngest of four. Strongly influenced by his musical family, piano and drum lessons eventually led to his first band in the sixth grade until he caught the guitar bug. David muses, “You never forget your first guitar. Mine was handed down from my Grandfather to my Dad then on to me. Even though it was a bit weathered, strings a mile off the frets, and always out of tune, it was great, I took it everywhere, a couple of buds making up songs and plucking out old Beatle tunes. Little did I know it would send me on a lifelong journey.” In the early years, David began traveling the road of hard knocks, honing his craft at various colleges and smoky bars up & down the New England seacoast. After recording his first record “Against The Grain” he began touring coffeehouses, festivals, and concert venues throughout the U.S. and has opened for Tom Rush, Jonathan Edwards, Jesse Winchester and Melanie among others, recording three other records along the way. These days, not only performing solo or with his band he occasionally plays with pal Les Sampou, blending guitars and harmonies. He has written music for TV commercials, taught songwriting, and continues teaching guitar.
Now living on the South Shore with his wife and two kids (cats), the title of his new album “No Better Place” surely rings true, coming full circle with an entirely renewed appreciation for all he left behind. “I’m thankful
I took that leap of faith, thankful to be writing, recording, and performing again; grateful to be back home.”
Ah, yes…Home, sweet home, music to my ears.

Thanks so much for the kind words. Your stuff sounds great (which is not surprising with Ben Wisch engineering.) This song was done by Neale Eckstein at Fox Run Studio in Sudbury.
