It all begun in 1996 in Kolomna, provincial town 80 km from Moscow when a couple of young persons formed "St. Elmo Fire". All of them had previously played in various bands but one is hardly interested to know this sort of stuff. Being constrained by the provincial music scene, the band was still making a music which was utterly different to that of their peers. Driven by desire to break away from a provincial routine "St. Elmo Fire" found an inspiration in the music of Massive Attack. They heard it in 1996 and that was the Massive Attack music that turned St. Elmo Fire's members thinking upside down. St. Elmo Fire eventually abandoned Kolomna, but the gloomy atmosphere of dark places and repercussions of terrifying closed space has exerted a significant influence upon band's further works. They are definitely not 'lucky guys' who got everything straight away, but their sophisticated and heartfelt music gets one right here.

TORTUGA BAR - STORM EP (VIERSIEBEN RECORDS/FINETUNES) OUT NOW!
This online EP release (5 Tracks & Artwork) is not just an appetizer for the album which follows on June 26 - among the album versions of "Storm" (feat. Evan Dando) and "Feel the Love" it contains a remix of "Storm", made by labelmates Monocular, the track "Cavallo Pazzo (Song For Mondo Fumatore To Sing)" feat. Werner Kureinski, former member of Aheads and "Do It Right", a nice version of the Daniel Johnston song performed by Tortuga Bar and Navel.
