   About Kofi Mawuko
The OGYA band is a world music band based in Chatttanooga TN. Founded by Kofi Mawuko from Ghana, West Africa and now living in Chattanooga, OGYA is comprised of well experienced musicians who have played with renowned musicians around the world. OGYA band plays high energy music that will make you dance and dance and dance till you are out of breath and then they slow it down to the sultry rhythms of jazz and soul-soothing reggae rhythms. Highlight performances include opening for LadySmith Black Mbazo at NightFall Concert Series and opening for Reuben Studdard Concert. In June 2009, OGYA performed at Bonnaroo, the world's largest music festival. They have also performed for several fundraising causes, including Alvin Ailey II. Their performance for CaribbeanSEA fundraiser t the Bessie Smith Performance Hall in Chattanooga helped to raise thousands of dollars to clean and maintain the Caribbean Sea environment. The Ogya band provides not only a great show enjoyable by old and young, but also play to help out with worthy causes. Shows will be announced as soon as they are booked. OGYA band performs at public and private events. If you would like to hire the band, please contact Kofi or Rebekah Mawuko at 423 698-3837 or email mawre_co@yahoo.com.

Kofi,Rebekah and Mawuko have returned from Ghana after a 4 week visit with family and friends. They are in great spirits and are back to work in Chattanooga with musical and dance activities in the Chattanooga area.
The Ogya band is preparing for Spring & Summer shows and is open for bookings. They performed at the Bessie Smith Performance Hall in Chattanooga recently to benefit the ecology of the Carribbean. The auction raised thousands of dollars to help clean and maintain the environment. The Ogya band had a great show and the audience not only helped a worthy cause, but had a great time dancing to the hot music.

Shows will be announced as soon as they are booked.

If you would like to hire the Ogya Band, please contact Kofi Mawuko or Rebekah Mawuko at 423 698-3837 or Tommy Cotter at 423 886-9325. Please leave a message if no answer.
