"one hour before the trip", a project that features musicians, engineers and visual artists, tries to combine the "indy" - as in independence - mentality and musical approach with the technical self-sufficiency in terms of equipment, facilities and manpower, that members of the project consider a vital prerequisite for the term "independence" to have any essential meaning. In an effort to be consistent with that concept, ’one hour before the trip’ had built their own recording and rehearsal studio, following the "room in a room" trend in sound engineering, and have been trying to equip it adequately ever since. Furthermore, the band itself, took the initiative in trying to establish certain relationships with certain people - ranging from those with technical background and experience as engineers, to others with their own similar artistic visions and demands - and made an effort to invite and provocate them into playing an active role in the development of the project.
Consequently, a certain determination had emerged; to extend the whole idea to how live concerts are to be performed. Despite the fact that the situation in our local area - athens, greece - is far from being helpful in terms of how venues are equipped and gigs are organized, there has been a success in realizing a dozen or so live performances that included video projection of sychronized material. Keeping in mind that project members share a common skepticism on genre-calling, ’one hour before the trip’’s music is roughly categorized as instrumental post-rock, however its elements span across several styles including progressive, avant-garde and old-school psychedelia, while most people would describe the video material as experimental.

σημερινούς δύσκολους και αφυδατωμένους καιρούς. Αυτοσχεδιαστική
διάθεση, αφαίρεση και απόδοση των συνθέσεων με ερμηνείες που αγγίζουν
την αλήθεια της ψυχής. Μια μοναδική συνεύρεση εξαιρετικών μουσικών από
διαφορετικούς τόπους που τους ένωσε η αγάπη τους για την ωραία ποίηση
και το πάθος τους για δημιουργία.
