   About Ohene
Ohene (pronounced Ô-hen-e) Is "THE HIP HOP MIRACLE." Living between Philadelphia, PA and Ghana, West Africa, Ohene has been blessed with a rare cultural background that has obviously contributed to his overall artistry. SINCE THE AGE OF TWELVE WHEN HE BEGAN PLAYING PIANO (by ear), repeating the minuets of classical giants Bach, Mozart and Handel, Ohene has been writing original rhymes and studying words for their uniqueness. BY THE AGE OF 15, OHENE WAS PERFORMING BEFORE THOUSANDS in Ghana's National Theatre where even today many of the country's biggest events are held.
TODAY, he is recognized as one of the most gifted emcees/producers in professional music and THE ONLY EMCEE YOU WILL SEE PLAYING CLASSICAL WALTZES ON THE PIANO WHILE RAPPING. OHENE'S FIRST TWO RELEASES, THE RAPADEMICS - a scientific and mathematical approach to Hip-Hop, STUDIED IN SEVERAL UNIVERSITIES (including University of Delaware, University of Pennsylvania, Temple University, and Virginia Tech) - and INNER CITY SOUL- a spiritual and social approach to Hip-Hop - are two expressions of his wellroundedness and have RECIEVED PRAISE FROM LEGENDARY MUSICIANS SUCH AS RITA MARLEY, KENNY GAMBLE AND MTUME. Both albums are in stores now, and available via internet (click here for The Rapademics and here for Inner City Soul). This time around, his production talent comes to the forefront, as he handles 90% of the instrumentation and arrangement.

ATAC's Founder Member, Michael Coard will be a guest on The Pan-Africa Show this Friday, June 27 at 10:00 a.m. on WURD900-AM to discuss ATAC's July 3 Black Independence Day Celebration.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

As you know, Avenging The Ancestors Coalition (ATAC) is one of the organizations that led the successful battle to force the federal government to commemorate the nine African descendants enslaved by President George Washington at America's first 'White House,' which was here in Philadelphia at the current site of the new Liberty Bell Center at Sixth and Market.
Each year since 2002 on July 3 during its Black Independence Day events, ATAC has held protests and other demonstrations to demand and support a slavery commemoration. And we recently won!
ATAC now invites you to attend its annual July 3 Black Independence Day event at 4:30 p.m. at Sixth and Market. The purpose this year is to celebrate the upcoming construction of the Slavery Commemoration project. For more information, please refer to the attached flyer.
As part of that celebration, ATAC will present a re-enactment of the lives of those nine enslaved ancestors. In addition, ATAC has invited Mayor Michael Nutter, former Mayor John Street, Congressman Chaka Fattah, Congressman Bob Brady, and City Councilperson Blondell Reynolds Brown to speak in support of this absolutely historic Slavery Commemoration project.
Please spread the word, and please attend.

Sincerely,
Michael Coard

Check out the summertime Hip Hop 101 course at Temple University/PASCEP. It’s a FREE five week course beginning Wed., 5/28 at 7 pm Temple University/PASCEP 215/204-1993

Instructor - Michael Coard, Esq.

SPREAD THE WORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tired of hip pop and crap rap?Frustrated by lazy lyrics and beaten-down beats? Irritated by mindless music and video violence? Want some real Hip Hop? Want some hot shit?

If so, check out the summertime Hip Hop 101 course at Temple University/PASCEP. It’s a FREE five week course beginning Wed., 5/28 at 7 pm in Anderson Hall at 11th & Berks. And please spread the word and bring your friends!
Temple University/PASCEP
215/204-1993

TO ALL ILLADELPH HIP HOP HEADS:

*Tired of commercialized rap? Fed up with “bling bling?” Heard enough of brothers trying to be “thug niggas” and sisters wanting to be “gangsta bitches?”

*I know you are, and I know you appreciate real lyricism as manifested in tight flows, oral dexterity, off-the-head freestyling, battle rhyming, skillful writing, and creative head-noddin’ beats- all with a culturally conscious foundation.

*And I know you understand that in order for the lyricism to be serious, then that lyricism-
as expressed originally and primarily by Black/Brown skinned youth or Black/Brown
thinking youth- must be based on experience, talent, and respect for the Hip Hop originators who started this shit.
*If you’re down with this kind of lyricism (as well as with the deejay, the breaker, and the graf writer, etc.),

then sign up for the HIP HOP 101 course at Temple University’s
Pan African Studies Community Education Program (PASCEP). In the course, we will start with the history of Hip Hop by giving much deserved and long overdue props
to the Bronx pioneers. We also will listen to, discuss, debate, and critique the works of such verbal geniuses like Army of The Pharaohs (featuring Bahamadia, Chief Kamachi,
Jedi Mind Tricks w/ Ikon The Hologram aka Vinni

Michael Coard, Esquire will debate cops, politicians, and others about the case of Mumia Abu-Jamal.

Attorney Coard will make it crystal clear that Mumia is not only "legally not guilty" (which means that the prosecution didn't prove it) but also that Mumia is "factually innocent" (which means that he didn't do it).

Tune in on Saturday, April 19 at 2:15 p.m. to the Rob Rovner/Frank Rizzo Show on WWDB-860AM. And call into the show by dialing 610/664-4100.

For more info, contact the Law Office of Michael Coard at 215/552-8714.
