June 17th, The Old Queens Head (London)Yes, the rumours are true folks! OIW is back at the Old Queens Head on June 17th, and we're bringing you yet another awesomely eclectic and wonderful line-up!
An OIW reunion might also be on the cards wth our AWOL member Sam Seager back from his adventures in the Japanese wilderness that very day! So what delights can we expect this month? Well it's real good folks, we've got...
LEFT WITH PICTURES
One of the most wonderful experiences we can think of to leave the house for. These guys have been gaining accolades from all over, including the likes of Steve Lamacq, Lauren Laverne, Bob Harris, Gideon Coe, along with heaps of praise from press types including Drowned In Sound editor Mike Diver hailing them, "Beyond brilliant...a band I fell in love with from the first listen"
Think Belle & Sebastian, early Aberfeldy, and a bunch of wonderfully enchanting pop folk melodies. Make no mistake, this will be utterly amazing in the gorgeous surroundings of the Old Queens Head.
EMIT BLOCH
So that's pretty cool huh? Well we got more kids! And yet another rising star on the scene in the form of EMIT BLOCH, a folk country D.U.D.E. who is currently on the ace One Little Indian roster. With a bunch of 5-star reviews calling him both "utterly remarkable" (UNCUT), and "fresh, vital, uncluttered and brilliant” (THE SUN), along with Beth Orten and Alan McGee shouting his praises. Emit is seriously cool and we can't wait to have him along for the show.
LOOK, STRANGER!
We're also delighted to have the wonderfully inventive folk pop of LOOK, STRANGER! along for the night, we've been meaning to make this happen for a while and so it's great news that the guys are coming down to the Old Queens Head for this one. Aw, it's going to be such a great evening!
And if that wasn't enough, we'll also have the one and only Mr Dave Depares along to spin out the best tunes and keep us all dancing and drinking well into the early hours (well until 1am anyway, it is a school night).
Hope to see you all on the 17th! Oh, and it's just a fiver for all this goodness if you bring a flyer (coming soon), or perhaps come wearing bowling shoes.

So what the hell do we mean by Oh, Inverted World? Well, dear reader, we are a club night in London that likes our music a little bit alt, a little bit folk, a little bit rock, a little bit indie, a little bit psych and a little bit awesome.
Over the past year we've had the likes of Filthy Dukes, Luke Pritchard (The Kooks), Paloma Faith, Eugene McGuinness, Kyte, Stricken City, Goldheart Assembly, Josh Weller, exlovers, Derek Meins, My Tiger My Timing, Anna Calvi, My Sad Captains, La Shark, Little Death and many, many more. There’s been cakes, there’s been police, there’s been laughter, there’s been far too much wine, but mostly there’s been amazing amazing music.
