"Flirtatious, saucy and never less than impeccably dressed, Downey is an atheist, feminist, anti racist, author, publisher, writer and all-around super-righteous wonder woman. Visit any culture-war battlefield, and you'll find her on the right side of the barricades, glammed up to the nines, taking chauvinist names and kicking bigot ass." - Philadelphia Weekly
Welcome to the Ohio Chapter of the Rational Response Squad! I am proud to be an affiliate of the original Rational Response Squad started by a team of well known atheist activists who are tired of the role irrational beliefs have in our society. Like the folks who originally started this team of rational responders, I believe that we should live in a world where people need proof for the claims we are told we should believe.
We're looking forward to uniting folks on a local level who want to engage in activism and get together from time to time.

TUNE IN FRIDAY NIGHTS AT 9PM EST HERE:
Who I'd like to meet: I want to unite with other people who aren't afraid to speak up about the dangers of religious belief. I want to meet people that understand it's good to respect other people, and sometimes the only way to do this is to show them why you disrespect the ridiculous and irrational things they believe.
Have questions? Feel free to contact me through Jaxtr!
i'll be running a session tonight during the social. my timing always works out like that. i hope to make the next one, i've not been to such an event before. i've always been more of a lone wolf atheist.

I hope you have a safe and enjoyable week, and that Wednesday you take some time to think about what the nation is celebrating.
I've always loved the 4th of July, but to me now it's a sad irony to celebrate the date of the nation's independence while the administration continues to pass laws that tear our independence down.
For me, the 4th will be a day of remorse and reflection, and the saddest part is the number of people in this nation wouldn't understand why.
Is there anything going on for Pride weekend or Comfest? We had mentioned something @ the first meetup. I'll be volunteering for NARAL at pride weekend for a few hours, so if there's any flyering or if you have a booth up, I'd be happy to help out.
Just a recommendation to all that the new Christopher Hitchens book "God is NOT Great" is pretty masterful. Sheds light on many of the atrocities committed in the name of "faith" while also taking an interesting literary criticism tack, too. Well worth checking out!
