my (hi)story ...
the past ...
i was born in may 1967 in bremen / germany & the years before i went to school were simply a happy childhood , but then in school i wasn't that happy anymore ! :-/ however ... i've discovered the great influence that music has on my life already in the late 70s & from that point on i was jus' "addicted to music" ! :-) in 1983 music really changed my life forever & i knew that i would do "something" with music in my later life by then ! 3 years later i had enough of school & finally quit it ! i was trained as a technical assistant for informatics back then & worked in several jobs that didn't really satisfied me ... until i've started my very own radio shows back in 1995 ! with "joint venture radio" & its network , which i've founded with some friends & colleagues , my life indeed changed for the better & lots of quite interesting projects followed in the next few years until today ! :-)
here's a lil' timeline of interesting events in my life since 1995 ...
1995 - the start of "joint venture radio" & - not much later - the jvr network with some friends & colleagues of mine on ok bremen , transmitting our own shows live @ a weekly basis ...
1996 - a tv music magazine was produced once a month by some friends & me - called "verstrahlt !" ( this german expression could be translated as "contaminated !" , albeit it doesn't really mean exactly the same then ;-)
1997 - i met some famous people like florian "don" schneider of kraftwerk , peter kuhlmann of the german fax rec. label , dieter doepfer of doepfer musikelektronik & talked to them about a project that i had in mind : to build a new prototype of oskar sala's outstanding electronical musical instrument called the mixturetrautonium , which indeed became true not much later , after we've all met in berlin to see the late & great maestro oskar sala himself playing live & visited also his studio & talked about this project some further with him ! due to the great skills & indeed big interest in this project , dieter doepfer , his co-workers & colleagues build a new version of the mixturetrautonium after oskar sala as a part of the module system a-100 series , which u can see & read more about it >> here << ! :-)
1998 - the jvr network became part of one of german's leading electronic dance music radio stations called "evosonic radio" !
1999 until 2003 - several interesting radio projects were realized , like live-transmissions from concerts & parties via isdn ... & @ the end of 2002 i've also started to build up the so-called "i~wave radio" station with some students of the jacobs university bremen ( formerly the international university bremen or jus' iub ) - ( below from left to right : bastian , ina , olaf ( that's me ;-) , nnamdi & tamara )
, which is now run by the students themself since almost 5 years successfully ! :-) in the beginning i've also helped them to organise some parties & stuff , as the iub had a great location for it , which jus' wasn't used properly by then , but now it's all going well & the parties are real burners - yeah ! :-) btw : since exactly 5 years ( april 2002 was the start of it ) , our jvr network shows are also transmitted worldwide via i-net live-stream , which brought a whole new & much bigger audience to us for which we - my colleagues & i - are extremely thankful , of course ! :-)
2004 - a year with a lot of ( very ) personal changes in my life & after all not a really good year to write much ( positive ) about here or elsewhere , sorry ! *sigh*
2005 - in feb. of that year i've finally decided to start something new & interesting again : the monthly "ev radio" shows , which were desired to present the music of talented & skilled music fans , who create(d) their very own music ! in april of that year the 1st real highlight of the "ev radio" shows was a special about the official ultravox tribute band called monument - cheers to u , guys ! :-) during june a break was sadly "enforced" - so to say - & the title of the shows changed from "ev radio" to "nu-vox radio" & the program continued with another highlight - a special about the messengers , the long-time support of ultravox live during the 80s - cheers to u , colin & danny ! :-) sadly in the month after it ( aug. ) the whole radio project almost ended quite abruptly , because the big special about one of my all-time favorite artists called john foxx was a disaster imho , albeit not many of the listeners thought so too , but i still stopped everything to rethink it thoroughly again for about a whole month ( sept. ) ... :-o by oct. the concept of the program has slightly changed , but it was still continued under the name of "nu-vox radio" until the end of the year ... ( 2006 - ) to finally become "retrosonic radio" in feb. 2006 then ! :-)

Mit erheblicher Faszination habe ich gerade Deine Biographie gelesen - die Anregung an Doepfer, das Trautonium neu aufzulegen, kam von Dir? Welch hervorragender Vorschlag - die Musikwelt ist Dir zu Dank verpflichtet! Es muss auch toll gewesen sein, Oskar Sala noch persönlich zu erleben. Ich habe Ihn lleider knapp verpasst, als er kurz vor seinem Tod noch in Karlsruhe gespielt hat (ich komme ursprünglich aus Heidelberg, lebte zu dem Zeitpunkt aber schon in Mainz, seit kurzer Zeit mit Kleinfamilie, und es war dann einfach nicht drin...ein Jammer!).

Helo, Oh Jay a.k.a. Doc Jones :-) I’m here to keep you updated about my next release in Bonzai Music (Bonzai Club Grooves). I have received the final master of ‘On The Groove’ (included in this maxi) from Madrid (it was masterized by an old member from Deepblue Records UK) and now it is available in my player. This track was made 2 years ago and It was uploaded (and, later, removed from my player) to myspace long time ago aswel. Then, I need to say thanks from here to all the remixers from this label who are working in this maxi. Special thanks to Liquid Nations and Tosch. It has been a real real honour to work with you all. The countdown has just begun!!
