OH MY WORD! ARE DEAD!
ALL THE INFO ON HERE IS OLD. OH MY WORD! NO LONGER EXIST!!
OH MY WORD! HAVE LEFT THE MUSIC BUSINESS!!!
Oh My Word! This band was formed in December 2006 by frontman and sampling genius Sleeves. He recruited OJ to do some other things, who in turn brought along the reclusive Irwin to control the beat automaton. In January 2007, the trio hastily recorded some songs and decided to play a live rock gig! This happened in March, but just before going onstage, Irwin quit! It didn't matter though, as he was quickly replaced by "The Steel Laptop". The gig went alright, but then "The Steel Laptop" was kidnapped! He was replaced by Captain Murphy (aka the Iron IPod). A review of the first gig in Coma Magazine was quite good, but reckoned the number of OMW gigs would not get into double figures! OJ and Sleeves set out to disprove this crazy postulation. So anyway, Oh My Word did more gigs etc etc.
The songs will make you feel so mighty, yet so drained. You'll find beautifully constructed yet ramshackle melodies. Sleeves' perfectly timed backing vocals are ace. OJ's effortless singing is a positive boon for all!
Oh My Word! are now claiming to be the greatest band of all time (except for the KLF). Who can argue with this thrasonical notion?
Oh My Word! played their final gig on Tuesday 15th September 2009. Love from OJ and Sleeves
