About Oh No Forest Fires - Vote for us on XM The Verge!!
The hardest part about this band was picking a name. The naming process took almost 7 months. Everything else was pretty easy, because we're friends and we help each other out. All of this will be built on the same warmth and love that lives in the basement where we started.
"It's like snipers of weirdness lay waiting inside the psyches of the scruffy members of ONFF, who, to outward appearances, are accomplished, polished, even stately composers of epic pop gems" ~ Exclaim!
"Oh No [Forest Fires] assert their own charming identity with complex four-minute ranging song structures and frequent jumps between stop-starts and protracted, frenetic guitar duels" ~ NOW Magazine
"[The War On Geometry] is surprisingly well-rounded... it's a pretty great debut from a bunch of high-energy guys." ~ Chartattack
"It should be fairly obvious to anyone who listens to The War on Geometry that Oh No Forest Fires is onto something, possibly something big... [it is] one of the outstanding Canadian EPs" ~ HeroHill.com
"The War On Geometry careens around with reckless abandon... it's impossible to resist! Oh No Forest Fires have come out with one of the year's most exciting debuts, and it'll be interesting to see where they go next." ~ Iheartmusic.net
"Glorious, guitar-driven anthems that make prog-pop seem like the most natural thing in the world and an energetic live show that the stage couldn't contain... ONFF were one of the most impressive new things I've seen in a long time. That their four-song EP is as good as it is and is still just a demo is both exciting and frightening." ~ Chromewaves.net.
"Their brand of power pop n’ rock has the bravado to make it on mainstream radio but still enough style and creativity to appease even the most hardened of indie scenesters." ~ FAZER Music Magazine
"The debut EP from this Toronto 4-piece is like a sugar-coated buzzsaw – all raw energy and cutting edge, mixed with a powerpoppy melodic sense." ~ Adult Contemporary Essentials (UK)
"The songs are also sharp bursts of kinetic energy… that rise well above your typical indie rock fare." ~ It's Not The Band I Hate, It's The Fans.
"[ONFF] destroyed their live show... I was hooked and I now deem them the must-see-band out of Toronto." ~ Two Way Monologues.

Great NXNE preview in Now Magazine, 'Rajiv Thavanathan was dreaming of distortion pedals and humming amplifiers when he was in his former band, Five Blank Pages. In a word, he needed to rock. When it became clear that his bandmates in the mellow indie folk outfit didn’t, he left in pursuit of volume'
Hello sir! Funny story, I do live in Ontario, and have been to one of your shows.. when you played Lee's with Arietta to be exact. Although we definitely did not play on swings on any other playground equipment for that matter... which is a shame.
