home to some of my horrible evil learningjourney musics? that i make in my bubbling cauldron of cabbage. I also play some beats in my free time to people and draw juvenile stickmen. I like to eat oreos and milk. Strangely, this page has had
views. Thanks for reading this far. :)
From a geeky 14-year-old road show DJ with a faulty turntable to the gates of Sonar Festival in Barcelona – Aresha’s notoriously known within the Asian circuits for her feisty personality and dark selection in music.
Representing Singapore for the internationally renowned Red Bull Music Academy in 2007 and named one of Singapore's Top 30 under 30 by The Straits Times in 2008, you know this lady can throw it down and roll it hard like the best of them.
Her adventures down the musical map started out at the age of 10, when she first laid ears on electro punk band, The Prodigy. Months of lunch money and several trips to the neighbourhood CD store was all it took.
Spending most of her school time in detention for playing big beat and electronic anthems instead hymns over the school P.A system “was totally worth the detention time”.
And at 16, she managed to convince her school nuns into passing her first event held in a school hall with eight subwoofers for a 400 strong crowd.
Several bad tattoos later and at age 19, the entrepreneurial lass formed star drum and bass promoter collective TherapyAsia. She went into managing Asian tours for A-list drum and bass producers in order to help further, challenge and inspire young budding Asian artists and producers in the industry.
Working with regional collectives in Malaysia, Thailand, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan and Korea, she has since hosted some of the biggest names in the drum and bass industry such as London Elektricity, Logistics, A-sides, Dieselboy and Nu:Tone.
Determined to continually put Asia in the electronic music spotlight, she guest writes feature articles on Asia for various music publications around the world, including a drum and bass publication based in the UK titled Knowledge Magazine.
Having failed miserably at the piano, she is an avid percussionist, having performed for several major performances in Singapore - and continually works with local and regional artists to date on various electronic/acoustic collaborations.
Her current live act comprises a rotation of local percussion prodigy, Riduan Zalani (Wicked Aura), MC Bridget (Breakbeat Theory), Budi (Wicked Aura) and Syafii Ghazali (Dubstep DJ).
