Ois II Men began in the drunken haze of Punkfest 2006 when FC, Jenks, Bentos and the members of ex-Christchurch band Not With You decided they should start a band where being so drunk they could barely stand would be an advantage, and so the band was born. Then, on Sunday morning only FC and Jenks made it onto the ferry and so were stuck in Picton for five hours with nothing to do but get really fucking hammered in the van, so they began writing lyrics on some sick bags they found, which would form the ideas for the first songs. Finally the rest of the guys arrived to find two bloody drunken vocalists rambling about beating up hippies and drinking Viking Beer.
A couple of months of boozy friday practises, two shockingly bad drunken partys and the live tape only release "Ois II Men - The Early Weeks" later, everyone bar FC and Jenks left for greener pastures in the big smoke of Auckland. The lineup then became FC yelling, Jenks on guitar, and two new faces, Jonno and Bridget on bass and drums. They played a bunch of shows around Christchurch and Sharkfest in Wellington, where they got really shit faced. They managed a followup to their tape too, releasing a seven song EP titled "all yous cunts can fuck right off" and they even managed to convince a bunch of people that it wasnt half as shit as "The Early Weeks" and got them to pay money for it.
One year since the first show and 2008 brings a lineup change with Dan Ohs replacing Jonno on bass, and a shitload of new songs that eventually became the full length recording "Hairs to Oi!" which is still available for 10 bones. Then Dan and Bridget both moved away, they played one last show at Punkfest 2008 to a bunch of smelly deros and went their separate ways. If you see any of them, buy them a beer, they fucking deserve it.
