Sounds Like
Sipping sour mash from a mason jar on the bank of a roaring river under a blood-red full moon with a hellhound on your trail.
IT's HERE! IT's HERE! JUST RELEASED on November 17 -- WORKING CLASS HEROES AND TRUTHS [Rotten Eggs Records]. This starkly textured acoustic production is a split CD with LEWIS THE SWAN that includes brand new Dave Dalton tunes ("In the Afternoon," "Penthouse Lounge"), an acoustic reworking of Dalton's hit "Scooter Boy," the Bastards' premiere songwriting collaboration ("Six Seconds"), an old Wobblies classic from former Wobblie Michael Molenda ("Little Reasons"), and a thrilling cover of the Sensational Alex Harvey Band's epic "Anthem" (complete with bagpipes!). Produced by Michael Molenda. (Hint: Seek out live previews on YouTube.)
ALSO AVAILABLE! The stunning, minimalistic folk gem that is BAG 'O' TRICKS [Vagrant Records of Seattle]. Produced by Michael Molenda, BAG 'O' TRICKS delivers one-take performances of "Bastardized" Pogues tunes and original songs that are gritty, gutsy, and mesmerizing. Listen!
WHO ARE WE? WELL, LET ME TELL YA... The Ol' Cheeky Bastards are like the Faces teaming up with the Pogues to out drink T. Rex and the Sweet! Lead Bastard Dave Dalton -- a seminal SF punk who founded the Screaming Bloody Marys and Cell Block 5 -- is a charismatic performer with a sweetly tortured voice who writes melodic songs awash in truth, pain, and hand-to-hand combat. He is backed by Sean Cummings (whistles, bagpipes, and kilts), Cheryl Doll (percussion, vocals, and beauty), Patrick Wong (bass and mischief), and Michael Molenda (lead guitar, vocals, and rampant buckeroo-ness).
Thanks so much for even giving us a chance..So many bands on myspace and new ones creating accounts everyday it really does have a impact on us when someone gives us feed back on what we put so much into :)
