In late 99' Olcyrus first started playing the club scene. 2000 saw his first residency at "aftermath" the then longest running dnb night in Seattle.
In 2001 he attended the California Recording Institute in San Francisco CA.
Olcyrus returned to Seattle in 2002 and picked up a residency at the "Compound Records" night. He also began working at Platinum records doing dnb ordering alongside Zacharia. Since then it has been a steady onslaught of gig after gig
2005 saw Olcyrus start a weekly night called "Wavelength Wednesdays". The night was a great succes and brought new flavors to people every week.
Opening for heavywieghts like Spor, Chris Renegade, Dom & Roland, John B, Total Science, Pendulum and more, Olcyrus has "earned his stripes" to become a solid piece of the seattle dnb community
2007 was a wildly busy year for Olcyrus. Aside from having one of the busiest dj schedules in town, he has also managed to book the first stateside tour for one of his musical influences Fanu and open for another, Breakage. Olcyrus also received some press in the pages of Knowledge Magazine UK in the section titled "Give em' props".
2008 keeps going where 2007 left off, the DJ schedule has been full. A new mix of all Breakage tunes was just recorded live on Portland radio and posted here. In June Olcyrus returned home to Seattle after 10 months rockin it in Portland to join the DJ tech Support Team at Rane. Got Serato? Holla :)
Olcyrus is also the stateside tour manger for Fanu. Early 08' saw a 13 city tour roll across this continent leaving beats broken and minds shattered every city he touched down. For Fanu booking inquiries, please contact olcyrus@lycos.com For more info on Fanu please check www.fanumusic.com
2009 finally sees the dj pace slowing, but the music hasn't. Things are busy as ever over at Rane headquarters. Trips to NAMM in Feb. and another convention in May, these guys get me around. The War Room in Seattle will be playing host to a Scratch Live event in June featuring ShortKut and demos of our latest gear. Also check out the May issue of Knowledge mag UK. Yours truly is back in it with a piece about "The Future of Digital Dj'ing"
Still along the lines of promotions the 09'Fanu US Tour has been booked and will be landing in 11 cities. June will also see Olcyrus and his Seattlednb.com website hosting another inspiration Amit @ Onset for his first ever Seattle appearence
Turning down gigs was suppossed to make my life less busy. It's not working ;)
