    Old Joebob Clark's Interests
General

As an itinerant gleaner of curios and other cool stuff, I have amassed a large collection of recorded music and out of print books as well as numerous other interesting items.

A decent PC troubleshooter and a bit geeky with it.

Music

I have played guitar, mandolin, harmonica and a bit of fiddle over the years. I think I can work the rust out of my fingers cause the tunes are still rolling around my brain. I always enjoyed the energetic connection when playing Old Time but I have enjoyed playing other styles as well.

Here's a link to an Audio Slideshow I really like. It's The Freight Hoppers playing at the San Francisco Bluegrass & Old Time Square Dance.

Television

I only feed it with DVDs and Videos ... It will live longer that way.

   Old Joebob Clark's Blurbs
About me:

It has been a long journey from the psychedelic '60s to the present time. Amazingly, quite a few modern folks discovered an appreciation and love for the traditional music that has been part of the journey of those who left Europe for this side of the pond years ago. That would include me as well. I have enjoyed playing Old Time Music with folks through the years when I was centered in the Southeast.

After relocating to New Mexico I missed the scene and created The Old Time Music and Dance Community Website to keep from losing touch.

I am 'Back East' now and looking forward to re-connecting with some old friends and making some new ones too.

Who I'd like to meet:

We are entering a time when life as we have known it will be changing quickly and not always in any expected way. Having lived on the road most of my life I am reading the writing on the gas pump... It's time to settle down!!

I am interested in meeting people who can relate to: intentional community, hands on off-the-grid energy, slow food and quality music. I almost forgot: wireless broadband.

What an incredible record collection you have! If I knew where you lived, I'd be tempted to come over with an audio recorder and a case of your favorite beverage in a desperate attempt to get copies of all the good stuff...

I'd especially like to hear that vinyl of the original "At Last" by Buddy Johnson and his orchestra with Arthur Prysock, recorded 8 years before Etta James created the iconic version of that song!

best wishes to ya...
