RECENSIONE CASTLE OF PERDITION - METALLIZED (Voto 69)

E' il 2005, quando in un tranquillo paesino dell' entroterra siciliano, circondato da valli e lande oscure, nasce dalle menti di Roy "The Shaman", Nekraner e Alex "Crazy Horse" il progetto Old Legend. Dopo qualche mese passato alla ricerca di un bassista, ai tre si aggiunge Ciccio Luzzio che, dopo poco tempo, lascerà la band. Dopo una fase di stallo, nel Gennaio 2006 entra a far parte della band, in qualità di bassista,”Jack”. Ciò, da nuovamente entusiasmo e stabilità all'Act, che dopo aver trovato il giusto affiatamento, si rende protagonista di alcuni concerti a Palermo e provincia ottenendo buoni consensi, fino ad esibirsi, in Settembre 2006, al I° Sicily Metal Fest a Casteltermini (Ag), con SilverWing e Dark Secret. Il 2007 comincia nel peggiore dei modi a causa di svariati problemi di salute di due componenti (ciò porterà uno di loro all'intervento chirurgico nell'Agosto '07), nonostante ciò il FourPiece prosegue l'attività live, partecipando e vincendo la "Battle of Band". Inoltre la Band partecipa come "Opening Act" al Full Metal Night con Cadaver Mutilator, Traumagain, Balatonizer, Cripple Bastards e Suffocation (from New York), Headliner della serata! La band propone un Death-Black Metal, con influenze folk ed ambient. Ciò, rende le sonorità molto particolari, differenti dal Classic Death Metal. La Band, terminate le registrazioni, promuove il Cd "Land of Terror". Successivamente, gli Old Legend, necessitando di una svolta tecnica, introducono il chitarrista “Faust”. All’inizio del 2008, le condizioni della Band fanno sì che avvenga la separazione dal cantante, che da un periodo dimostrava scarso interessamento al progetto. Lo split avviene in un live che gli Old Legend, si trovano ad affrontare senza di lui, senza particolari timori. Dopo pochissimo tempo entra nella band “Francy Niurck” come cantante, incrementando il sound puramente Death-Black Metal. Con questa formazione la Band partecipa a diversi eventi, inaugurando la nuova formazione al concerto di Fabio Lione e Ancestral 24/04/08, promuovendo alcuni inediti, che faranno parte del prossimo lavoro. L’album “Castle of Perdition” presentato nell’ Aprile ’09 in occasione del concerto con gli Handful of Hate (Palermo, 19/04/09). Da lì in poi una serie di avvenimenti metteranno in pericolo la vita della Band, la quale rimarrà in stand-by per circa 7 mesi. Nel Novembre ’09 grazie alle critiche positive ricevute da “Castle…”, oltre che alla voglia di riprendere un progetto importante, avviene la “Reunion”. Purtroppo, i buoni propositi nulla sono di fronte al rancore, riaprendo così ferite mal cicatrizzate. In un quadro del genere è obbligata una svolta in modo da capire quali sono gli obiettivi da perseguire. Avviene la necessaria separazione da “Jack”.
I momenti di stàsi aiutano a riflettere ed a focalizzare i veri obiettivi da perseguire.

It is 2005, when in a small and calm country of the Sicilian hinterland, surrounded by valleys and dark moors, it is born from the minds of Roy "The Shaman", Nekraner and Alex "Crazy Horse" the Old Legend project. After a few months passed to the search of bassplayer, join the band Ciccio Luzzio but after little time, he left the band. After a little time break, in January 2006 join the band the new bassplayer, Jack. This, again gives enthusiasm and stability to the Act. After having found the correct understanding, he makes protagonist of some concerts to Palerme and province getting good consents. So, in September 2006, it plays at the I° Sicily Metal Fest to Casteltermini (Ag), with SilverWing and Dark Secret. 2007 starts badly because of varied health problems of two components (this will bring one of them to the surgical intervention in August '07), despite this the FourPiece continues the activity live, participating and winning the "Battle of Band". Besides the Band plays as "Opening Act" at Full Metal Night (Palerme 18/05/06) with Cadaver Mutilator, Traumagain, Balatonizer, Cripple Bastards and Suffocation (from New York), Headliner of Festival! The band proposes a Death-Black Metal, with influences folk and ambient. This, makes the very particular sonorities, different from the Classic Death Metal. Currently the Band, finishes the recordings it is busy in to Cd's "Land Of Terror". After the Old Legend have been to need of a technical turn, introducing the guitarist “Faust”. In the beginning of 2008, the state of the band cause the parting by the singer, what since long ago, showed that he was disinterested at the project. This event ended with the removal from Nekraner of the band. After little time, in the band enter “Francy” like Singer, that increase the sound purely Death-Black metal! With this line-up, the band participate at several music events, playing a inaugural show with opener at the first gig of Fabio lione & Ancestral in Sicily 24/04/08! The band have promotion new songs that will be in the next work!
The album “Castle of Perdition” released in Avril ’09 during the gig with Handful of Hate (Palermo 19/04/09).
After the concert, many problems and a series of events they will put in danger the life of the Band, which she remain in stand-by for 7 months. In Novembre ’09 thanks to the positive critcism received from “Castle..”, Old Legend come back to resume the project, the “Reunion”. But is not a good idea, and the old problems return.
The necessary separation happens from "Jack."
