The groupies and muses of rock's classic era are the ones best remembered. They were the rock & roll goddesses, descending upon touring bands like angelic civic groups. In those days, we took care of our boys from the moment they stepped from the tour bus or plane to the final tearful goodbye. THE PLASTER CASTERS ... THE GTOs ... THE FLYING GARTER GIRLS ... THE SUNSET STRIP GIRLS ... THE TEXAS BLONDES ... THE L.A. QUEENS... HELL'S BELLES ... if there was power in being a groupie, there was more power in numbers. PAMELA DES BARRES ... CYNTHIA PLASTER CASTER ... LORI MATTIX ... PENNIE LANE ... CATHERINE JAMES ... DEVON WILSON ... SWEET CONNIE ... MORGANA WELCH ... JENNIE DEAN ... SABLE STARR. And what about the Rock Muses like PATTIE BOYD ... BEBE BUELL ... PATRICIA KENNEALLY... ...Why do their names still glitter today, decades afterward? How did they manage to parlay youthful fun into a lifelong fame?
This would also be a good time to send hugs and kisses to all you sweet young thangs keeping the spirit alive: Thank you the BBAs, the PLASTICS (all of the chapters!), the LIPSTICK LOLLIPOPS, the ROCKER TWINS, THE BLUE JEAN BABIES, THE AQUANET SPRITES, ROCK ANGELS, THE BAND BOTHERERS and all the other girl groupies! Mmmmwah!!!
